Impressive introduction to the country's industrial past! Nice tour, led by a former winemaker. The presentation and the puppets sometimes look a bit corny, but the general atmosphere creation is OK. Fun to experience!

Very nicely designed museum, with the whole history of the local coal mining industry, peppered with a lot of personal stories and with very interesting explanations.
In the basement of the museum, the underground work in the mines is very faithfully recreated, the explanation is done by guides who still worked in the mine of Beringen.
We thank Ivo for his very interesting and interesting explanation, in a very sympathetic way!

You can walk in and out of the museum...
We started with a coffee in the very nicely decorated café, operated by sympathetic volunteers, then went to the museum, to follow the guide in the basement around 11 am and to continue the visit to the museum afterwards...
Nearby you will find a nice and decent restaurant!

Very nice and surprising visit. Frankly had few expectations of it. But very nice tour downstairs from Bert. Very enthusiastic and interesting, he also involved the children in the group well, so that it remained interesting for them as well.
Also very nice museum, also for children, through an iPad and assignment booklet walked throughout the museum.
Afterwards also a small snack and a drink. The Koolputter is a local beer and definitely recommended.

Vriendelijke ontvangst door oud mijnwerkers die altijd klaar staan om over hun passie voor de mijn te vertellen. Rondleiding in de mijngebouwen en in het mijnmuseum door
ervaren gids( Yvan) die iedereen bleef boeien tijdens het bezoek dat 2,5 uur duurde. Na de rondleiding een frisse koolputter gedronken en nog wat nagepraat in de kantine van het museum. Daar passeerden nog straffe verhalen over hoe het vroeger was... Een geslaagde namiddag.

Today we visited the Mining Museum with two people. We live not far from Beringen and wanted to know more about the secrets of the mines. We arrived just in time to get an explanation from 'Polleke' downstairs as a group. Due to his years of experience as a miner, he was able to describe in great detail what working in the mine looked like and what materials were used for this. He had our attention from start to finish, it was very nice to listen to him! Afterwards we visited the museum itself and our visit lasted about 2 hours. Very worthwhile to visit to learn more about Limburg history. But it is definitely advisable to catch Polleke's explanation when you are there, these sessions took place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

A very interesting museum, where everything about the coal mines in the Beringen mine is explained.

We had a group of 10 people, including 1 child under 12 years old. Our guide (Johan) was extremely friendly and clearly understandable.
He had a lot to say and he could answer all our questions.

The site is beautiful, the museum itself is in need of renovation. The experience remains the same for years and the old men behave like dangerous watchdogs. I found them surly and not very hospitable. A little rejuvenation and a different approach can do wonders here.

Voor een wandeling in de buurt zeer zeker.
In het mijnmuseum is dit echt geen aanrader.

Dit valt perfect mee. Je loopt wel niet echt onder de grond maar in ruimten waarin mijngangen zijn nagebouwd. Je voelt je er niet opgesloten in.
