This was a different view of Wilsons Prom and provides a good view of Corner Inlet, the 1,550 HS sheltered water between the Prom and Port Albert.Access was via Foley Road south of Yanakie

My wife and I visited this place for a walk as we were staying nearby at Coastal View Cabins. This is a pleasant place with scenery and a 2.1 km hiking trail called "Duck Point Loop".

The short walk to Duck Point is a great little walk through the coastal scrub to the other isde of a little peninsula. Best to go when the tide is low as you need walk along the beach on the far side to reach Duck Point. Keep your eyes out for the wildlife especially all the little birds that inhabit the scrub (plus the kangaroos in the open paddocks). Doesn't take long but very worthwhile.

Beautiful park for all generations. Very clean and wonderful toilet/shower facilities. Camping with the beach right behind and waking up in the van looking over it. Also some bush sites which is a lot of fun for families and young children to ride their bikes around. And an amazing playground.

We walked round the loop in the early evening when the light was stunningly beautiful and the black swans unperturbed by our presence. A gem of a quiet place to wander.

Lovely spot to drive to and walk along the sand spit viewing the Prom and Corner Inlet. Great bird viewing and then walk back through the Banksia forest. Best at low tide.

Duck point is a wonderful place to walk and see the nature all around you, we do this walk as often as we can and just love it !!

Came here on our last morning of exploring the Prom and today was our only day of rain so this seemed like a good choice with the tide out.
We chose to do the walk clockwise starting at the "tunnel" and finishing at the boat ramp so there was no chance of missing the turn off from the beach.
With the rain there was no wildlife but there was a geocache.

We visited Duck Point Loop very early in the morning. At the time there was nobody else around, except a flock of galah cockatoos showing off in the bushes around the parking lot. A bunch of black swans were floating nearby on the still inlet waters. We didn't do the loop through the bush -- we just walked on the beach to the end of the point, were we saw two elegant pelicans and a number of smaller waterfowl. The atmosphere is beautiful, and on a clear day there are great views of the mountains to the South. No better way to start the day!
