You to travel through dense mango n Coconut farms. It offers an amazing view. Go up the hill to see the view of the dam. If security stops by saying some reasons convince him by giving some money n njoy the view.dont miss it.

Been here a few months back....to be frank a visit to this Dam and surroundings are not even worth an hour...Dam storage is often poor when enquired......the only point of attraction is the mango orchards abutting the road to the Dam from Periakulam.....take your own food and beverages as nothing is available there.....overall this destination can be skipped....

Visited this place on the way from Surili falls... Water was very less and nothing much to see and experience if u have been to bigger dams.. Roads leading to this place is average..
Return back before 6pm as it's very isolated place and not safe when with family in case of car break down etc..

This is one tall dam built in between valley. We could not experience the water flow as it did not have enough water.. But the view from above the dam was a nice one.

On both side of Periyakual to Sthupparai dam road thick mango groves are spread a very lovely look. There were no water in the dam when we visited.

It is one of the remote and untouched dam and it has retained its beauty. It is very scenic and greenery place. Water level was full when i visited and could reach to the top of the dam. It is surrounded naturally by mountains. It gives you a fresh feeling as the water just enters from western ghats. It is a MUST place if you go to Theni

Situated @ the foothills of western ghats,sothuparai dam is naturist paradise...best time to visit the dam is during the rainy months...there wonn ne many shops around so its better to come prepared with your foodie...
