This place is awesome with mesmerizing views of nearby hills and valleys. The small stream is so beautiful and pristine and be careful its slippery too at sometimes. Its located close to bodi with 30 mins you can reach this place. Its a must visit place in tamilnadu

It was an amazing trip in my life. You will also feel the same if you are a nature lover and trekker. When i say trekker, dont think too much that you should be an experienced trekker. Really it's not like that. This is my just second trek after Chembra peak, Wayanad. So anyone who have confidence can make this trekking trip possible.
We are 12 from Chennai and reached Bodi bus stand at 5AM. There we refreshed in a small hotel room and had our breakfast around 7AM and packed our lunch and water bottles and boarded the van to Kurangani. All this was booked and planned by our Co-ordinator in Theni. On the way to Kurangani we bought some snacks and Fruits and picked our Guide at Munthal village and went to Kurangani Village. It was an awesome feel when we see the small village covered with the Kurangani hill in the background. We got the approvals through our co-ordinator already and we started to trek with our guide.
We need to cross through the village while starting the trek. By seeing the height of the hill, Some of our friends said that it will not be possible to finish the trek. But we encouraged them and continue to trek. We need to walk on the man made road path for an hour. After that we need to follow the guide. Else you will miss the route. After a 3 hours trek we reached a place called "Lonely tree". There we had our lunch and took rest for 30 mins.
Then around 2PM we started to trek again. After the lunch the place will be quit risky and steep. So we need to walk carefully and follow the guide. It took another 3 hours and finally we reached the heaven (kolukkumalai-the top) at 5PM. Where we stayed in the pre-arranged tents. It was located inside the Kolukkumalai tea estate. So there were many groups came for trek and stayed along with us. We had a great non veg dinner and slept peacefully. Next day morning also we went to Meesapulimala trek & Jaguar rock trek and had our lunch there. After lunch we returned to kurangani by Jeeps via Suryanelli village. From there we reached Bodi bus stand in a pre-booked van and returned back to Chennai with more & more memories. Totally, If you want to go for a adventure trek and love nature, then Kurangi is the best place for you.

Kurangini hills trek is the one of the challenging and mesmerizing treks of Tamil Nadu / Kerala . Must do , its usually organized by Bangalore Mountaineering Club or GutsyTribe . Plan and join them . Magical Experience. Camping within coffee estates.

Nice place to visit but when we went there not much water in the falls we walked in the trekking path and found lot of mangoes and kids enjoyed

This place is 12km from bodi.. We were heading towards munnar and we came to know due to some strike the road was closed till 6pm.. We immediately had to google and found this natural stream as an option to spend sometime.. The walk to the stream is not too long from the parking.. It is a very small falls from a stream.. There are a few stores for some coffee/tea etc.. Water was very cold, otherwise the place was okay.. Less trafficked and not much crowded..

Kurangani hills will provide you with a great view of the Shola grasslands.This place is about 12 km from the kurangani village and trekking is a great way to reach the place. Because of the view and also you can see some wild cats, gaur, Nilgiri Langur and leopards if lucky. the air will be pure and chill.

it's situated 10km from bodi.its very nice place to see nature in low budget and here one govvernment guest house is availabe to stay. it has two small water falls in the mountain its nice to see. and its calm village destination for a mini trip

I am planning to visit kurangani with family. My wife, mum 60 yrs, 2 kids 6 yrs and 1 yr old. Just for one day trip. Will it be a happy journey. ?? Due to summer many water filled picnic spots are getting dried up. So little hesitating . If no water then i will be in soup. I am planning visit kuragani on Apr 24 ,2017 monday or tuesday. Is it ok now ? which is the best attraction here ? or any other place near to theni. My native is chinnamanur near to cumbum.
