The views were amazing, there are two small beach restaurants with each chairs for rent. You can snorkel or just relax. One side of the island is very secluded for topless or even nude sunbathing if you dare and the snorkeling is really amazing on that side as well, it’s a very short hike over on a beaten path. The views from the top of the hill are very pretty. There is a ferry over that cost $12 round trip and runs every 30 minutes or you can rent a kayak as well but it’s a fair ways away.

Que lugar maravilhoso! Demora 10 minutos de barco, ficamos no Kariburi Beach Club que tem um atendimento fantástico, cerveja muito gelada e petiscos incríveis

Good experience for visiting this island. A lot of people swimming in the ocean because the heat was very high. The sun was burn. We had umbrellas but anyway very hot. The food and drink ok. The stuff trying to do the best

Durée de la traversée 10 mn allée retour pour 10€.
Surtout ne pas y aller un dimanche !
C’est ce que nous avons fait ☹️
Trop de monde, familles et autres habitués des lieux.
Donc bruyants alors que nous pensions arriver sur un îlet plus ou moins tranquille, pas de chance.
Mais je pense que c’est surfait, il faut bien se trouver des activités sur Saint Martin.
Surtout ne pas y aller un dimanche !

Short ferry ride. Nice beach and restaurants (2). However we went to snorkel and no fish so we were disappointed.

Posto stupendo si arrivara tramite una barca da Cul de Sac ,spiaggia bellissima discreto snorkeling. Difetto è stata attrezzata per favorire il turismo americano, ci sono 2 ristoranti ma possibilista di avere un pezzo di spiaggia libera, senz'altro da annoverare fra le prime 3 spiagge dell isola.

A very relaxing day. Took the Emile B. Larmont ferry to the island, a 10-minute ride. Got off the boat rented some great beach seats and enjoyed waiter service for food and drink. Great snorkeling and a very relaxed atmosphere. Would do it again when in St. Martin.

Situé à 2h de Saint Barthélémy en bateau , magnifiques cliches , dépaysement total, belles plages avec une eau claire . Possibilité de se restaurer sur place. Je vous conseille les langoustes toutes fraichement péchées .Transat disponible

As usual a great day on Isle Pinel. Be sure to check out geocaching as a new way to enjoy the island. Water was much clearer than a few years ago for snorkeling but with waves made it too choppy to get as much done. Will take a whole yet perhaps for the reef to re-establish after the 2017 hurricane.
Beach staff were great as was the ferry staff.
Get there on the first few shuttles if you want good front row chairs and check the online cruise schedule to pick a day with fewer cruise ships.

This was one of my favorite parts of our visit to St. Martin. We visited with my 2 young kids in search of calm waters and it was better than we imagined. The boat ride over is 12 euro per person and they didn't charge us for our kids. The restaurant on the island was exceptional. The swimming was great and the service was great. We didn't reserve any chairs or boat in advance and everything was easy and seamless. Also, get the lobster!

How difficult is it to get a taxi to return back to the cruise port? We were going to do this as an excursion then figured it would be cheaper to go out on our own.

Very hard to get a taxi back unless you pre-strange it with the driver. Renting a car was reasonably priced and a simple drive. It’s a very small island.

There is a dock on the shore across from Pinel. It’s $12/person round trip. There are also kayaks available to rent if you want to do that.

Jack K is spot on... I'm not aware of any direct ferry from St. Barths to Pinel Island. Alas... because I thought Pinel Island was pretty cool... I wish I was back there now!

We will be in SXM next week and would like to do this island as a day trip. Questions: can we do snorkeling from the shore here? The restaurant on the island, is it good for lunch? Are there enough beach chairs and umbrellas? Where do we keep the valuables such as a wallet and cameras while we are in the water?

Not sure on the snorkeling, but plenty of beach chairs and you can basically sit in the sand and surf. Food is good, nice place for lunch. We had a view of our items at all times as well, it was very safe there. Only way to the island was with a water taxi or if you kayaked yourself there. Not alot of people there at one time. Super nice place to spend an afternoon!

No booking required. Get a taxi as you depart the ship, have them take you to Cul de Sac to catch the ferry to Pinel Island, pay the ferry fee (I believe it's 10 euro round-trip) and ensure you have a return taxi lined up to take you back to the ship. The ferry to and from Pinel leaves every 30 minutes or so.
