I recently attended the Churchill Theatre Bromley where I watched the incredible production that is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the production starring Charlie Brooks AKA Janine Butcher from Eastenders was truly scrumptious in every way with a talented ensemble and creative sets as well as first class vocals. If you have never seen the movie the I strongly recommend you watch it but not before booking your tickets for the stage show as the touring production brought all the classic hits from the 1968 film onto the stage along with the well known characters. The film, brought to life in this 2024 stage production tells the much loved story of Caractacus Potts and his two children who give a new lease of life to a broken down race car. Starring Adam Garcia from wicked, Kiss Me Kate and Coyote Ugly soon Potts and his two children would get into all sorts of mischief and it all starts with the quick witted inventor and his work on the car . The great thing about this production is it had something for everyone as taking up the role of Grandpa Potts was Liam Fox who fans will know as Dan Spencer from the hit ITV soap opera Emmerdale , for me Liam Fox played the role first class and his portrayl of Grandpa Potts was truly exceptional . I will not spoil it for those who haven't seen it but in this fictional story with a evil baron and baroness, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang would be the much loved and thought after car that would soon help save day. This timeless classic deserves a long running place in the history of modern greats .

We usually go to shows in the West End but my daughter was insistent of seeing Six on Tour so I booked tickets for this show in Bromley. To be perfectly honest I wasn't expecting much, as it's so far out of London and the theatre is closing down soon.
However we were all really pleasantly surprised. The theatre is lovely. The seats are wide and lots of leg room (neither of which you get in London theatres). And the seats are all tiered so no trouble sitting behind taller people.
The staff were lovely and the place looks clean and well maintained.
I am saddened to know that this will soon close down and be sold off - it is an absolute pleasure to attend.

It’s nice to have a theatre so close to home I think it is value for money however the thing that really stood out was the fact they are limited on female toilets. I seemed to find a male toilet everywhere I looked but when eventually finding a female toilet the wait line was about 10 minutes long due to only having three cubicles. A lot of women missed the first act due to this - on the plus side we were able to bring in our own water bottles

Venue needs a refurb, difficult getting into seats past other people.
Drinks in bar so so expensive £38 for four drinks, beats West End !!
Show was great, Pretty Woman, sound system is very good.
Tip...eat and drink before you get there.

Great theatre, great show but oh my goodness the cost of drinks £17.70 for a pint of moretti and a small bottle of prosecco. I was taken aback, far too expensive. Next time I'll either have drink elsewhere before hand or not bother.

Been to this theatre to watch many shows over the years. It’s a decent local theatre and it gets some good acts appearing on stage. There’s plenty of legroom and the seats are comfy

Nice theatre and enjoyed the show we went to see, but disappointed with the seats. I always try and book the front row if I can as I’m short and worry about getting a tall person in front and not being able to see the show. Booked row AA of the circle, over £80 on tickets for myself and my husband and no mention of view being obscured. When we arrived there is a safety rail all the way along which goes right across your view of the stage. It doesn’t matter how tall you are, it will obscure your view. I’m short and had to slouch right down to see underneath, my husband is 6ft and had to sit right forward in his chair to see over it. The whole row was doing the same. The show was booked out so no option to move to other seats. Annoying when you pay so much for tickets. The height difference in rows means your view would not be obscured by a tall person if you’re short like me, so go for the second row, wish we had!

We're sad to hear you were disappointed by the safety rail obscuring your view. When selecting those seats on our website, there is a note of the restricted view and it also is written on the ticket. The seats on row AA were £40 each as you said, which is actually a reduced price in light of the slight restriction [the seats one row back on row BB were £9 more].
Also, if you'd like to know more about the view from each area of the theatre, our box office team are knowledgeable and happy to describe this for you in future or you can check out the view from a seat function our website!

No to using toilet, we walked passed the theatre to go to the park today.
My little one was desperate to use the toilet and the staff member could see that, instead of being kind and for the community he turned us away telling us to go into marks and Spencer’s.
Thanks Churchill theatre. What is wrong with with having a little understanding and common sense these days? You may have been told not to open your toilets to the public but on this rare occasion could had been accommodating.
You would think being in the heart of Bromley they would be more community lead!
As a regular family of the theatre for over 25 years! we now have been put off going back.

During the day the venue beyond the main foyer is closed, unless there is an event happening. For the security of our staff and for the safety of all our visitors, we cannot allow people to wander our venue unaccompanied. During the day, there are no front of house staff in venue to escort people to the bathrooms [which are on lower floors and require unlocking] and the desk staff cannot leave the foyer unmanned, so whilst we appreciate that your little one needed to use the toilet, we are simply not able to assist.

Went to see Abba tribute band that were at best mediocre but the whole experience was marred by the clientele and theatre in general.
Group of women behind us were allowed to talk at the top of their voices whilst we tried to listen. They were so loud that everyone around were disturbed. This was mostly fuelled by the alcohol they had consumed and were allowed to bring into the auditorium. At the finish the floor was strewn with wine and beer glasses. It really was unacceptable.
The whole thing was like being at a cheap holiday camp production.
Management need to get a grip of what’s happening in their auditorium and take some responsibility.
This was a lovely theatre once. Now it’s looking and feeling very shabby.
Come on Bromley. Do something about this once love theatre.

A little late replying, but there is a newly renovated restaurant and bar. Prior to being refitted it was fairly bland and the food on offer was fairly limited, mailny because people need to be served quite quickly. The food was not bad and not too expensive, but in all fairness it is worth doing onlyif you do not have time tobeable to eat elsewhere. I would suggest that the Theatre make a concerted effort to open a bit earlier and ensure the visitors are able to enjoy the whole thing a little less rushed. The servers at the time did make a good effort, and hopefully that has at least continued.

Hello Lisa,
Well unless things have changed this Theatre has a rather strange policy whereby you pay £5 for the seat and then keep it !!
So, if you have 2 or 3 children you could pay up to £15 and then have to carry them home and store them somewhere.
I know at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford they are free or 50p.
Aside from that it's a lovely Theatre with great views and Leg room.
Hope you get to see a lovely show.

Hi Where are you arriving from ? There is parking in Swan Hill car park and parking ion street (pay and display) Railway stations at Bromley South (Victoria) and Bromley North (Charing Cross) Busses all stop at or near 'Market Square; which is pretty nearby

I would I always avoid the front stalls because generally one has to look up all the time, and yes, it does tend to give a pain in the neck! I would save front row stalls for the times you want to be seen by those on stage or just get as close as you can!
