We had the best time rafting with Nova. Lucas was an awesome guide and we had so much fun on the rapids and learning about the area. I would book this again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone who’s going to be in the area. Check it out!

Loved the guided tour of Matanuska Glacier. It was a fantastic experience with our guides, Ben, Maya, Nate, Drew. They are very safety minded with also giving thrills on the Glacier.

My friends and I rafted the Matanuska River with Nova. It was my first time white water rafting and it was a great experience. The guides were fun and the view was spectacular. It was an awesome experience and I would definitely recommend it.

I did the Lion’s Head rapids with NOVA. These are more Class III than IV with constantly churning water but no boulders or challenging navigation sections or places where the boat might tip. NOVA provides dry suits that work well - only my exposed face and hands were impacted by the chilly water. The river guide expertly piloted the boat such that it was rarely necessary to paddle more than a few times at once. The river itself is unbelievably scenic from the Lion’s Head formation to the other mountains of the Matsunuka River and the dark, creamy glacial river itself.

We went on a 5 hour glacier tour via the backcountry of the Matanuska Glacier. Ben, our guide was super professional and very thorough! We had a great time - even with some „beginner level“ ice climbing elements. Also walked through a canyon and took like a million pictures. I can highly recommend this company for adventures like that since we also saw a couple of unprofessional people there. So book with Nova! 👍

We did the 3 hour glacier tour with Zack and Tyler as our guides. They were so fun and knowledgeable. We were traveling with my 2 teenaged boys and my 70 year old mother and they were so helpful and took special care that she felt comfortable. Additionally, they were fun and engaging with my boys. The views were truly magnificent. What an amazing experience! *Definitely dress warmly as it’s colder in the glacier than the check in area.

Rafting the Matanuska River with Nova was definitely the highlight of our Alaska trip! The crew was fun, the rapids were awesome, and our guide was funny and informative while making sure we hit all the best, most exciting lines!!

We were lucky enough to do the private Matanuska glacier hike with Thomas. We had an amazing afternoon and Thomas was a great guide, who kept us safe and having fun. He’s also an amazing photographer and took some great photos of our family.

Nate and Drew were awesome guides on the adventure trek on Matanuska glacier. They were very safety oriented, and they were fun to be around! They were very knowledgable, and I would recommend it for sure!

In August, my brother and I want to do 6 Mile Rafting - Canyon 3. I understand there is a swim test.
I'm trying to figure out the capacity of that and my capability prior to coming. I usually swim breast stroke… wearing light clothing or a bathing suit. The test takes place with a dry suit (unsure of the weight that adds/flexibility/restrictiveness to swim).

^People above were free styling like their life depends on it. Despite that – they didn’t pass the swim test. How strong of a swimmer do you have to be?

Our group would like to do the Matanuska whitewater trip.... We are all 55 years and up. All in good condition. I'm somewhat apprehensive. Can you tell me how at risk I am of getting to take a swim?

If you paddle well and your group does exactly what they are told, there is a very low chance that you will be swimming in the water. Very few people fall out. The rapids are only class 3 and 4 on the lions head river. We went and no one fell out. If you go on their six mile creek rafting trip down in hope Alaska, you will def fall out on those class 5 rapids. You should be good. I saw an older gentleman do the lions head rafting trip for his birthday and it went well.
