I stayed at Sibbald Point Provincial Park (SPPP) with my family on August 1, on our way home from Manitoulin Island. Based on our experience, unfortunately I can’t recommend it.
When we arrived at about 7 pm, we found our site (#45, East Campground) liberally dotted with garbage (bottle tops, used water balloons, a spilled ice-cream or milk-shake on and under the picnic table), and smelling strongly of urine.
We asked for an alternative site, but this was not possible, due to the park being fully booked for the August long weekend. However, we accepted the offer to send Maintenance to clean up our site, and went for supper in nearby Sutton. (Papa Luigi’s does first-class pizza, BTW).
When we returned at about 8:30 pm, we found our site exactly as we had left it. Either Maintenance hadn’t come, or they had come, but done nothing. As it was becoming dark by this time, and as we were all quite tired, we decided to set up our trailer, and deal with it in the morning.
Sleep turned proved elusive. A couple of sites away, a large family group was having a good time. It’s not that they were drinking, or playing music, or being particularly obnoxious, they were just really loud, until about midnight. A small group of kids (unconnected with the family group above) set off firecrackers on three separate occasions. At no time did I see a park warden. And noise from the nearby roads was clearly audible, especially the jerk who thought it would be really amusing to repeatedly backfire his car at some point in the early hours of the morning. (Obviously this is not within the control of SPPP).
In the morning we decided to call it quits, check out early, and run for home. As we checked out well before 12:00 pm, we received a full refund for the two nights we didn’t stay.

We arrived later in the evening on a Friday and was checked in, they no longer issue paper tags for your campsite stay.

Found our site it was almost completely all mud, our trailer was sinking into the ground. Trees were cut all around our site and just left there, garbage all along the treelines(lighters, napkins, etc..), the fire pit was 3/4 full of ash and the electrical outlet was impossible to find.

It was getting late so we set up and decided we will deal with it in the morning.

Other campers were partying playing loud music screaming yelling until 2AM, no one enforced any rules, to top it off kids started tantrum screaming at 6AM.

We did not get any sleep at all, in the morning we decided to leave.

This is not a campground I would ever recommend and we will NEVER be coming back

Survived two days of torrential rain only because the site #823 didn’t turn into a massive puddle. We were one of two tent campers that stayed the course, everyone else cleared out.
It is not a typical campground that is a destination for people who enjoy a natural camping experience. I would compare it to Grand Bend, each with beautiful beaches, both with a riot of day campers. I also found that many campers had no sense of nature or the precarious natural environment within which they are guests. We witnessed a shocking display of ignorance where some campers in the sight adjacent to us found a salamander thinking it was a turtle ( how can someone not know the difference?) and threw it into their camp fire. FROGS, SALAMANDERS AND SOME TURTLES ARE ON THE ENDANGERED SPECIES LIST. Please remember this.
It’s an ok campground for a rowdy family with children who love to swim. It’s loud with a lot of young heavy drinkers.
The camp staff are great albeit young and so, timid to enforce campground rules and regulations. Sibald Point might benefit from having senior staff patrolling and managing camp rules. Sounds silly to me that a provincial campground need rules.

I recently visited Sibbald Point Provincial Park, hoping for a peaceful camping experience, but was sorely disappointed. The park management's lack of enforcement regarding noise regulations ruined our stay. Campers were allowed to party all night, making excessive noise and disrupting the tranquility. Despite the area being designated as non-music, loud music blared throughout the night with no intervention from park staff. This blatant disregard for rules made it impossible to relax or sleep. If you're looking for a quiet and restful camping trip, I would not recommend Sibbald Point Provincial Park.

We went in September and it was nice and quiet. If you like that sort of thing. We stayed in the Radio Free Zone. Everyone was respectful. The grounds were very clean.

The park itself has a lot of potential. But almost everything needs to be taken care of. We were in a western part. I intentionally booked the campsite closer to washrooms and shower, but when we arrived it turned out that all shower cabins in our part of park are out of order. And they are not fixing it, just put the note on the door OUT OF ORDER. I think that's not fair to pay full price and not getting major amenities. The campsite itself was good, but previous ppl left some loose garbage. That's why the site looked messy, not neat. I liked the beach are, though there were several school busses with kids from camps there. It was a weekday, so it was not overcrowded.

I absolutely love this park! I come here with my family, its close to home, and the lake is warm and sandy. Now with that said, a stay this park isn't your typical camping trip, and that's part of how I've grown to love it. You can expect to see tons of happy families having a BBQ, groups of friends occupying the volleyball nets, people swimming and tanning on the beach. This park is all about having fun!

Your odds of seeing a moose or a bear at this park are probably close to none. But hey! not every provincial park is gonna be that way and it's totally fine. This is the place to go if you just wanna kick it back, have a couple drinks, and spend a weekend away with your friends and family. There's plenty of beauty and benefit in that as well.

Now for the amenities and campgrounds:
Campsites are large compared to most campsites I've stayed in! Most sites could comfortably house 3 tent structures. Plenty of room if you have a trailer. In my experience campers have obeyed the rules of the park.

Bathrooms are well maintained and resemble typical campground bathrooms, nothing extravagant.
The park has no outhouses! make do with that information as you please.. I never used the outhouses in the parks that had them and the absence of them really helps with the smell.

The park store is large and sells most camping essentials (unlike other parks) bug repellent, rope, sleeping bags, emergency blankets etc. Store also sells ice cream and park souvenirs.

2 boat launches, there's great fishing on the lake.

There's also a historical museum located within the day use area.

Overall, I think this park has tons to offer if you accept it for what it has. If you come into this park as a hater you simply won't enjoy your time and that's unfortunate. Try not to have that be the case. I'm sure you'll have fun.

I've been coming here for 12 years now. I had a lot of great memories here with my family but most of all with my dog. It was nice n close, it's a warm lake. BUT mostly because it has 2 areas for dogs to swim, for cooling n exercise. We would spend hours in the water.

I went the past 2 years with my new dog. A very nervous dog. Who loves other dogs and needs a lot of exercise. 1st year he wasn't fixed, took him to the area near the boat launch, which is less busy. A long walk to get to. He was so terrified of all the noise, from the boats.

2nd year, last year. He got fixed, I was super happy to finaly introduce the dog beach to the right, and see all the dogs. Which would be such a reward for him. And a cool down, from the heat. Well when we got there, what a huge disappointment... the dog area was rammed. There where only 2 dogs in the water, all the other dogs where tied up, under the picnic tables for shade cause it was so hot that day... the water was full of screaming kids and so many floaties. Then people had their chairs, tables, blankets, paddle boats etc. All lined up close to the water. Which made it impossible to walk a long the small water shore, or even get to the water. My dog once he dipped, but only because i pulled him in for 5sec. He was so nervous of all the screaming kids n their floaties he just pulled me so hard to get the heck out of there.

Campsites are a long way to the very crowded noisy beach. There is a beautiful dog beach but some dog owners insist on using the people beach! Our campsite was private but at night the park was too noisy. Someone was letting off fireworks one night and a live band played well past park quiet time on another night. Week days were better. The Weekend was not so great. I read the reviews before going and We should have heeded the warnings that other campers posted.

We went to Sibbald Point PP for a four day camping trip to explore the Simcoe Lake area. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to a long line up of day users and campers. We thought we’d have quite a long wait but we were checked in rather quickly and on our way. Our campsite was in the 700s which we discovered was a nice little area with good sized sites with decent privacy in what overall appeared to be a large and crowded campground. The campsite was sufficient in size, relatively private and traffic both foot and vehicle was light. That said, the site was laid out poorly with the electric post well over 50m away from the ideal spot for our camper and the fire pit was in an odd location. We made the best of it plugging into 15a power because our 30a cord wasn’t long enough. There is also only one sewer dump which was insufficient to properly serve such a large and busy campground so a wait was not uncommon.

There’s a good size beach at the park with one end allowing pets, which we really appreciated. It was quite busy and crowded when we arrived on Sunday but through the week it was great with lots of free space. The small museum located at the park wasn’t open when we visited but it’s located on a lovely well groomed lot. Just down the road from it there is a beautiful stone church with a peaceful and well situated cemetery right on the lake. Beautiful spot! We loved strolling the area and taking in the various views of the lake. There were even picnic tables on a rocky part of the beach close to the museum. There’s also a large boat launch area that was well used while we were there. You can fish off the dock but it was a busy spot so not sure how many fish would be about. The small town of Sutton is only minutes from the park and has all the amenities campers and day users would typically need or want.

Overall, we enjoyed the park and may return.
