Struttura imponente che domina dall’alto il borgo. Si può salire a piedi in 10’ attraverso un sentiero o con navetta che però sarebbe partita 1h dopo.
La fama del forte è certamente legata alla figura di Giuseppe Balsamo, conosciuto come conte di Cagliostro, che qui morì prigioniero il 26 agosto 1795. Ho trovato la visita molto interessante, così come la sezione museale con i racconti dell’alchimista e, senza dubbio, la cella dove egli mori (il ’Pozzetto’).
Biglietto a 10€, secondo me un po’ alto, acquistabile tramite totem all’ingresso (pagamento solo con carta). La visita è in autonomia, si può girare liberamente e richiede circa 1h.

The castle is beautiful, inside there is so much to see, weapons, photographic exhibitions, environments with many explanations, some paintings and movies everything is very well preserved and in addition the fort is easy to reach even for those not used to long walks, because the beautiful village is only ten minutes walk and there is also a shuttle for those who can not walk.

San Leo is a nice village that is especially spectacular on a rock. You can park there well (paid). From there you can continue up a poorly marked path to the fort. That, as is often the case, is more interesting on the outside than on the inside. The collection is a mishmash and only indicated in Italian. There's a cafeteria. Pricey entrance fee. Actually especially worth it because of the view.

Beautiful view, but then come the problems. Automatic ticketing with credit cards only; no employees inside the fortress and toilets out of order.

Fort of early medieval origin with typical appearance of a defense castle, then came prison that hosted illustrious people such as the famous Count of cagliostro, who died there.
Beautiful location overlooking the valley and remains overlooking the overhanging rock.
Inside the rooms are well maintained with museum exhibition areas, weapons, alchemical and esoteric instruments, torture and a multimedia museum part. Many cells and scenic areas. Unfortunately when we visited it there was fog but it is absolutely worth it with a nice day.
It is not possible to get in the car, there is a shuttle about every hour that goes up and down at one euro per ride. There is a fairly steep road to go up descend feet, will be about 20 minutes to climb.
Admission is 10euro adults and free up to 17 years and is done with digital turret and electronic payment at the entrance.
It is absolutely worth it

A lot of walking but great scenery. Interesting architecture and history. Pay attention to your head because of the low arch.

Majestic fortress located on a rocky spur overlooking the village of San Leo. From its stands you can enjoy a wonderful view of Montefeltro.
The fortress is excellently restored and for the ten euro ticket it really deserves to be visited.
Famous for having hosted illustrious prisoners such as the Count of Cagliostro and Felice Orsini, you can visit the cells and many other rooms including the dungeons where a real torture museum is set up.
The video in which a cat narrates the history of the place is very beautiful, mentioning the three most famous characters who passed or stayed in San Leo (San Francesco, Dante and Cagliostro).
Absolutely worth seeing.

Very beautiful castle, amazing view, too bad there was no guide to describe the entire route. At the entrance there was an automatic ticket office, with no one to provide assistance, a shame, it should be more valued.

Interesting and well-preserved historical structure, the information panels are accurate and easily understandable, the exhibition rooms are interesting. Price maybe a little high.

Можно доехать на автобусе Bonelli bus. Его расписание посмотрите в интернете на их официальном сайте. Там есть информация на русском языке. Очень удобный и комфортабельный автобус.

Salve!!!! Avrei una domanda sulla Rocca. Ho cercato informazioni su internet, ma non sono riuscita a trovare un risposta univoca. Per arrivare alla Rocca, oltre che a piedi o con la navetta, è possibile andare in auto? Ho visto un parcheggio appena di fronte alla Rocca su Google Maps. Il parcheggio è riservato? Si può attraversare il paese di San Leo in auto oppure è ZTL? Grazie

Come le hanno risposto sopra, non ci sono assolutamente difficoltà per parcheggiare. Noi abbiamo trovato posto senza problemi e il parcheggio era gratuito.
