I didn't even initially plan on visiting Suopo since my time was limited and I already saw Zhonglu and Jiaju. However, my driver convinced me that Suopo was worth it, so I decided to give it an hour or two. Actually, Suopo ended up being my favorite among the three and I kinda regret spending the night in Zhonglu instead of Jiaju.
Other reviews and guidebooks tend to describe Suopo as simply a collection of watchtowers, however that's a bit misleading. It's a village just like Jiaju and Zhonglu are, complete with guesthouses and everything. Suopo has the added bonus of having a quite interesting museum which illustrates how the ancient houses would have been used.
Of the three villages, I would summarize them as follows:
-Jiaju: Most developed (by several orders of magnitude). Level of commercialization is bordering on the absurd, although as of 2021 it's not *quite* there yet. There are plenty of guesthouses, and most of them are far enough from each other that you could stay there and most likely have an enjoyable time.
-Zhonglu: Hints of commercialization, but still quite rustic. The architecture may be slightly less ornate than what you say in Jiaju, but there is a more "wild" and authentic feel to it overall. The village itself and the views are equally as beautiful as Jiaju, so you don't sacrifice much in staying here.
-Suopo: No commercialization at all. There is a museum, but it's actually very interesting. Compared to the other two, the village feels more "wild", but, again, the overall appearance of the village is really quite similar. There are guesthouses there as well, but I imagine they would be really basic compared to what you find in Jiaju or even Zhonglu.
If I could do it again, I would probably base myself in Suopo instead of Zhonglu (and skipped Jiaju altogether). If you decide not to sleep there, it's still worth visiting Suopo for the museum.

河の向こうに見える塔が目印の、不思議な村です。
つり橋を渡って散策。
飼育されているかわいい豚さんや牛さんも一緒に渡る笑
整備されていない小さな村なので道は悪いです、坂道や階段を３０分くらい歩きます。歩きやすい靴で。
塔も登ってみてください。とても怖いけど。

We caught a taxi to the towers which are just 3km out of Danba. But he did not take us to the town itself, expecting us to walk across a swing bridge with small children. We ended up on a viewing platform taking photos but did not get to the town itself. While the pictures look good, it also looked quite steep which would have been a bit much for our kids. We got a bit stranded and it was only after 15 minutes walking along the roadside that we managed to hitch a lift back into Danba.

四姑娘山から康定へ移動する途中、丹巴で一泊したので、何の予備知識も無く訪れました。丹巴の市街からタクシーで「スオポ村まで」と頼むと、数キロ先の吊橋の手前で降ろされ（２０元）、そこから歩きました。見所である古い塔は斜面の上の方に点在していますが、特に見学順路も決まっていないので、適当に歩いて回りました。特に観光地といった感じでも無く、店もありませんでした。唯一、村の入り口にあった雑貨屋には店番がおらず、のどがカラカラだったにもかかわらず、飲み物を買えませんでした。訪れる前に、飲み物とちょっとした食べ物くらいは買っていった方がいいと思いました。
