Sierra athletic club is the number 1 workout place for me (and my wife). Been a member since 2013, the owners are super nice and keep the place in great shape. Besides beening close to where I live it offers great views while doing your workout.

I have been a member for a long time and this is in my opinion the locals gym. Its clean small, no juice head douche bags. This is the only gym I will go to.

Been here a few times over the years. A little small but they have enough cardio equipment and free weights/weight machines to go around. A little dated but staff and clients are always friendly. I like that they allow drop ins.

Punch card worthwhile for tourists. Fairly small, with somewhat older cable equipment, but plenty of free weights. Quite friendly. My wife and I always buy year-long memberships for less than $700 per couple.

I liked the selection of equipment and the people working the desk. The place has a day pass for $15 and though that is a bit pricey, I would use the facility again. It was also unusual to have dogs, of the patrons, in the gym. But that's South Lake Tahoe I guess. They were well behaved.

This is a great place to get some exercise while in the Tahoe area. It's conveniently located in the Tahoe Keys near the marina and has a great selection of workout equipment and classes. Working out and watching deer meander by was pretty cool.
Some of the classes are held outside when the weather permits and the staff are very friendly and approachable to short-stay visitors.

I wanted to get a work out in while vacationing for a week in the Tahoe Keys. The staff was very welcoming both on the phone and during my visits. Its a small gym but they have everything someone would need to get a decent work out in from cardio equipment, free weights and spin classes. I could tell many of the members knew each other but everyone seemed friendly. I would go back if in the area again.

This is a really small gym, with a ton of equipment packed inside. They probably have everything you need, but often it's very crowded, and it's a very "social" gym. You always see someone you know, which to some people may be a good thing, but I go to the gym to work out, not socialize while I'm pink and sweaty. Also, the fitness classes aren't included in the price, which is steep to begin with. There are better places to work out in Tahoe (not to mention the outdoors!)
