Richmond, BC is a great alternative to staying in Vancouver. Airport is actually here and easy to get to. Steveston is a quaint fishing town with many eating establishments. The park has trails and great views as well as connecting to West Dyke Trail for awesome biking and walking. Homes are beautiful and very peaceful. Stay is highly recommended

This is supposedly one of the best places in Vancouver to see the Cherry Blossom trees but we went in the summer time. It is a waterfront park, located within walking distance of the Steveston Village. It can be very windy here and we saw quite a few people trying to fly kites. You get very pretty views of the Fraser river and the ocean. It is a very relaxing place to go for a jog or a stroll or just laze around. There are a few walking trails nearby. Overall not a great place to go out of the way but can be a pleasant evening if you are already in Richmond

Cherry blossoms are in full bloom signifies the beginning of the Spring season. We can expect sunny days in the coming weeks. This is one of the perks of driving around during the Spring season. These gorgeous flowers delight people all over Richmond City mostly on the roads and residential gardens.
This year the Cherry Blossom Festival was held last April 2 at Gary Point Park. It is a waterfront park, a quiet place with amazing views near Steveston Village. It’s great to have wonderful activities whether a stroll in the park to relax, have fun playing games, or family picnic bonding. It’s also ideal to enjoy the charming Sakura Cherry trees by taking photos and admiring their beauty. This week, most of the Cherry Blossom trees are in full bloom so it'll be wonderful to drop by before they're gone in the next two weeks.

Whether you are a local or from out of town, you will be impressed by the views from this extreme south-west corner of Lulu Island. One can see "forever" to the south and west. Closer by, kite flyers, a Japanese garden, and a memorial to lost sailors. And some great walks on flat terrain. Lots of parking, refreshments close by.

Located at South west of Richmond , about ten mins walk from Stevenston Village and lot of parking on week day , very safe and clean comfortable relaxing park gorgeous views of the Sunset , the Fraser River one side , and the ocean on other side easy and fun place for walking , jogging and cycling , lot of historical place , and connects to the dyke were a lot of trails , also there is a well know Fish Chips take out by the Grey building got to visit in March / April for the spectacular Cherry blossoms .

It's wonderful to walk along the shore and enjoy fine weather. Lots of things to see. Peaceful environment for enjoyment by a range of people. Free parking.

Our first visit here was in the spring. The cherry blossoms were amazing! The park is great, with terrific views. We returned a few days later to watch the sunset. Walking along the dike we saw many different bird species. It is a long drive for us, but worth it.

Personally I don't see any problem, but you may want to check with Port Moody parks. The park gets crowded so they may help in saving the perfect spot for your group. Best wishes!
