My husband and I didn't even realized such a wonderful lake was just around us..for the past 3 years we visited Lake Wilcox almost every season, early in the morning, early evening..and until now, we are still amazed by the serenity of the place & how well it has been maintained all four seasons..it is our go to place to unwind ,catch up on our lives & be in awe of nature's beauty!

Oak Ridges Community Centre and Lake Wilcox have a good thing going on. There’s a great little water park and a skate park to the South on Bayview Avenue. Although there’s a fitness and indoor pool at the Community Centre, on the opposite side North of Bayview at Bethesda Side road, there’s gravel walking trails and “Jefferson Forest” unmarked parking lot. It’s no paved Tom Taylor Trail beside Newmarket Commons Riverwalk/ Lions Hall, opposite of Fairy Lake paths; but unlike Too Good Pond or Thornhill’s Pomona Valley /tennis club Park, in Richmond Hill, folks can easily access outdoor skating or public washrooms for free. Unfortunately, the pay lot nearest the washrooms is only available for Richmond Hill residents. By parking near Lake St. George on Bethesda across the street, you might walk farther but can still enjoy the fountains or skating on the lake. Shops are too far away for walking to Yonge and King Road, so pack your cooler and take along a water bottle or two, too!

One of the lovelist parks that I have ever seen. It is the perfect combination. You can enjoy strolling along the lake, or sitting nearby the playgrounds for kids to have fun. And try to find the different birds that are hidden within the trees ;) Nice place to take fabulous photos. There is four parking areas, so try to choose the right one nearby the area that you are interested in. There is open-air gym so you and your family can have so much fun. In summer, don't miss the splash pad area.

Nice park for the family to spend an hour or two besides the lake! Nice boardwalk besides the lake. The park is easily accessible from GTA.

We had a family picnic here last Sunday. It was a fabulous day that allowed seniors and youngsters to all enjoy the day at this park.
We went early and managed to get four tables under the shade. We also took our own chairs and food. After eating and mingling amongst friends and family we took a late evening walk on the lake side. The boardwalk provides a nice view of the lake and the setting sun and we walked further on a track that passes some nice homes overlooking the lake.
It is not recommended to swim in the lake because of bacteria and hard objects. However we saw people swimming and kayaking.
There is also a water park for young children to enjoy.
This is a nice park. Not being able to swim is a disadvantage but otherwise one can put in one’s daily quota of 10,000 steps in what is a fine environment.
Most people do not wear masks here. I suggest you only go here if you are vaccinated.

Lovely lake only trouble it gets soooooo busy and especially during Covid people have really been kind of ignorant, obviously not the fault of the lake as people want to get out, but nonetheless it kind of spoils the day

Accidently came across this beautiful, protected lake on my walk from Oak Ridges in my own uncharted, explorative adventure. Wow, beautiful does not do it justice – its serene, soothing, and so satisfying in these Covid-19 times. The public area along the boardwalk has benches, playgrounds, clean washrooms, and picnic spots. The lake views are terrific and included this day, waterfowl, kayakers and an intrepid paraglider. Swimming and fishing are available but I saw no evidence. The boardwalk had the usual August cyclists, joggers, walkers, and dog-walkers on show, enjoying the weather….

One way of breaking the Covid isolation monotony.........took advantage of today's fine early fall weather and go for a walk at nearby Lake Wilcox Park. Beautiful view and gorgeous fresh air! If Richmond Hill resident apply for a free parking permit online to save a few bucks!

Yes, many people do swim although it isn’t reccomended due to glass and bacteria in the water

You can park in the new community centre parking lot on Bayview street. There's also a small parking lot close to the lake , but a large overflow parking lot off of Olde Bayview Ave. To enter, drive to North Lake Road from Bayview and turn into Olde Bayview Ave.
