Disappointed with general signage. Trying to find our site was very annoying. Ended up on a very narrow hilly road instead of on the right road. Had asked for directions on a map as it was our first time here. Staff seemed annoyed I asked for a map and hastily grabbed a map and highlighted where we were and where to turn but the map actually is poorly done and we missed our turn. The washroom is right across the road which is what we were looking for because we don’t have a washroom in our converted cargo trailer. Unfortunately everyone drives here so it was a steady stream of traffic for the bathroom but also parking for the beach and the main road to one of the boat launches. There was a boil advisory on. We did not check the advisory notices before heading here so that’s on is but it would have been nice if it was mentioned in the office when registering instead of finding out when we hiked to get water. Not many taps here. Drove into kenora for drinking water and boiled a lot of water for dishes. They cleaned the bathrooms and showers at 9 am in the morning when many people were wanting to use the rest rooms. On our 2nd last day a staff member pulled up to tge washroom and asked everyone to leave the restroom and showers. They were locked and signs put up that they were closed. They were closed for many hours. People coming and going. They have very few vault toilets to use instead. Perhaps they could have sent one of tgeir many staff around to let campers know what was happening. Loved the lake for kayaking, loved our hike up Rushing River. Overall did not like the constant traffic in the site we were in. If you don’t like it busy not a park for you. Also the condition of the roads in the park are horrible so use caution when driving here.

First time camping at this park. Very nice place. Beautiful scenery. They ended up having no running or drinking water on the second day of opening. Not sure what was going on. So I guess we experienced pure camping experience :) Out houses are big, clean and well supplied with toilet paper.
All in all, good park to stay. Would recommend it.

The low rapid hike is easy and very picturesque. Great family destination although we were just a couple. Nice little beach area that was “walled” off to keep children within a certain swimming area. Nice picnic shelters, picnic tables, washrooms. A “rushing river” runs through the park with lots of picnic tables close to the banks. Campground looked nice, showers were clean. The park ranger was very polite and enjoyed roaming the park, talking to guests.

We visited Rushing river provincial campground last summer and for 10 days the year before. Beautiful provincial park, clean water and great hiking trails. The south beach is great for young kids and overall the campground is very nice. It’s a popular place so we were not able to get the dates we wanted last year. Worked out okay as we ended up finding a trailer spot 10 minutes to the south at Luther Village. (Church based family campground). Was great and the kids made friends.

Wonderful campsite in a gorgeous setting with lovely paths. We would have loved having our kayak on the lake. It was crowded and a bit loud, but our site had some privacy. The restrooms were clean and nice.

Rushing river it self was amazing campsite was awesome beaches very beautiful. Unfortunately staff very unfriendly special people that were cleaning the showers and washrooms very rude. Not happy with staff at all no help. Girls at the front desk don't communicate at all no info about anything 🙄 . I didn't know about any activity they had for kids so I think they should hire some one that actually likes there job so they actually tell you about the place and what kind of things they have going on.. The worst part was that someone stole our folding table of our campsite. I mean seriously what's wrong with people these days 😕 we are a family of six how can you be so cruel and do that. Definitely should have more security driving around yo check on people...

We stayed in site 295; this is a very large site (fit 3 tents, a fire pit, and has 3 picnic benches), un-serviced, but very close to the "comfort stations" (bathrooms/showers) and water tap. At the back of the site there is a walking path to the small beach/playground area. There was a massive storm that came through overnight and our site did not have a single puddle by the morning.
While we were here all of the water taps and "comfort stations" were closed and unusable - due to low water pressure that they were not able to fix during our stay. As a result we used the outhouses, and well.. they are outhouses. Not horrible but not good; could've been cleaner, better stocked, and lit-up. I would recommend bringing a large jug of water along for washing up in case this happens to you.
The campground itself is very nice and has lots of choices for sites. The check-in window closes at 3:30pm, and they did not make us pay the fee for a second vehicle permit. Along the rushing river pathway, there are lots of benches you could picnic at. Very scenic and quiet overall. It's also only a 15 minute drive to Redden's Store, which has basically everything you could need on a camping trip that you might've forgotten.
I would 100% recommend camping here and hiking along the trails!
Just don't forget the bug spray!!!

We spend our summers in our camper travelling sites in northern ontario. This is our first time in this area and it did not dissapoint. This perhaps is our new favourite. Simply put. Gorgeous park. Amenities clean and new. Park beautiful , 4 beaches provide ample options.

What a beautiful campground! Great sites on a gorgeous lake with nearby beautifully maintained river trails. We stayed in site 74 with hookups, not hard to back our small camper trailer into. We pitched a tent and slept in it. Very private. I swam in the lake from the very nearby canoe launch and dock, and we canoed (renting the canoes from the nearby store....you pay there and get life jackets and paddles, but the good wooden canoes are at the campground dock) in the sunset and saw a beaver three times slap its tail.
Our site had TWO picnic tables which was helpful. Water tap and outhouses just down a path.

Over the past many years we’ve gone, they’ve always seemed to accommodate. They have an online calendar showing available dates. I’ve usually gotten away with booking two months in advance. Hopefully this helps?

In my opinion, I don’t think you’d need to however I can’t give you a “yes” or “no” answer unfortunately because I’ve never asked. You could always go to the front office and explain that you’re just there for an hour or two visiting someone who already has a permit for their camp. Good luck 👍

No there isn't. You park your car on the road at the top of the site, and then you bring your gear down.

Hi,
my group is currently debating if we should get camp sites near the modern showers and flush toilets for convenience for our ladies. Or if we should get a group site, a friend will be bringing their two dogs. A concern for our ladies were the non-flush toilets (outhouse?) and how clean they were. Can anyone provide a good description of these? i've stayed a group site before and there was a little shack, with no lights for their toilet area. I'm wondering if Rushing river has a better outhouse washroom, that's clean, has a light and considerably large? Thank you! any info will be greatly appreciated. We're trying to get the ladies to be more in touch with nature.

I haven't camped in a group campsite. . I'm a senior and am used to outhouses. All the out houses I've used in provincial campsites have been clean I imagine Federal govmt campsites are clean also. The younger generation is more finicky though. I always bring extra paper to wipe off the seats , even in a public washroom.

We will be travelling around the 5th of Sept we have 28.5 ft 5th wheel trailer. Are camp sites available for units this big. Also we have 2 dogs and do we need to book in advance this time e of the year
