Safe paths, but more picnic tables, and areas should be marked. Nice view of the lake. Good for small canoes, inflatables, small beach but clean area. Long ways to the eating area and shore.

Nice beach, great lake for kayaking. The railway trail is great and have had no issues with dogs on the trail.

Beautiful walk in a gorgeous setting. Controlled number of people so not overcrowded. Can do an easy walk or a medium hike. Huge off-leash dog area at a fantastic beach where the pups can swim and play together. Worth the trip out.

Good place to kayak. Easy and enjoyable. Good for paddling and just relaxing. There are places to picnic too.

Nice park, good hikes, friendly park staff. A must see if you are in the Mission Area. Dog beach too - nice touch.

We took our two boys here to try our new kayaks and it was quite busy, lots of beach area with picnic tables and areas to throw a frisbee or ball around, the water was nice and they had decent bathroom facilities as well. Like the title states this all paled in the disgust of Canadian geese poo pellets all over the sand and grass and walkways, the entire beach was covered, we tried to find a space clear enough to spread a towel but we couldn’t without using the shovels we brought to toss aside and bury several geese leftovers. It was truly disgusting. I have been to this beach at different times of year and it didn’t have that issue and was quite enjoyable but when the geese are there, it’s overwhelmingly disgusting.

Hayward Lake offers swimming, boating, hiking, biking, fishing and beach. The Reservoir is part of the Hayward Lake Recreation Area. There is also a dog park very popular. Dogs are allowed to be leash free. That is what I have enjoyed with my friend who has a very large very playful young dog and we have taken her to the dog park where she has socialized with other dogs and run for hours.

this is a great place to take the kids or go for a long hike with the dogs then go for a swim in the lake

Excellent trail reopened I think in July this year.
The railway trail is nice but this trail is more challenging in areas and even on a hot day the tree cover really helps.

Lots of parking easy launch and a very calm lake for paddling especially if you are beginning. The lake has the remenants of piers and trees to navigate but that can add to the picturesque beauty of the place. Also in the middle of the lake there is an osprey nest. Depending on the time of year, June usually, you may see momma and perhaps her babies.

In google look for Hayward Lake Reservoir. It will take you there. If you follow GPS and it takes you to a cul-de-sac in Yeo Street then turn around, get to the Dewdney Trunk Road, turn right and go towards Steve Falls visitor center and there is clear indication where to turn right.

Paths that can accommodate wheelchairs in the recreation area. But not for the Reservoir Trail. You can check the other trail - did not try it - but they say it is paved or packed gravel. Hope this helps.

Not as far as I know, electric yes, but gas powered no. Look up BC Hydro Parks on the internet and all the information is there. Stave Lake just above Hayward does allow boats.
