The grounds are great - good access and lots to see. Good spots to picnic if that is your thing. However suggest giving the tearoom a miss. Such a shame a captive market but poorly run/managed, a basic menu is fine but should be delivered with reasonable speed.
When I visited we decided to just have coffee as food ( whatever was ordered) would take an hour! Would have been quicker to go to the local pub
This when not exactly heaving with guests - lots of empty tables
Clearly something must be done if they expect to provide a reasonable service.
Perhaps, like many businesses, they are struggling with staff, if so maybe restricting the menu would help - whatever I think something must be done if they are to make the most of the summer season.

The owner of the estate has 2 black German shepherd dogs who run freely throughout the walks despite signs everywhere saying dogs must be on leads. And last week they attacked my dog ( another German shepherd ) for no reason. The staff were great and helped defend me and my dog but this was an awful experience for any dog owner to go through. I dread to think what could happen to others. I will never be coming back here

Lovely space to enjoy the the coutryside, walking the dog. Cafe on site offers great refreshments, good parking. Well worth a trip for an hour or two.

Really lovely area, kids loved it, spent 6 hours there, 3 of which in the park, struggled to get them to leave, even the adults enjoyed it, has a very fun wonky roundabout that the adults spent most the time on, and a great mom assault course. Plenty areas for picnics, and loads of great things to discover on the walks, truly magical place. Will definitely visit again, perfect for a day out, and costs nothing but a cheap parking ticket.

Six middle aged friends spent an enjoyable few hours walking around the walks. We were surprised that the café wasn’t open as there were a lot of people around due to the fact that it was a really lovely day. We knew that there was a café by the car park and had intended to have some tea and cake before we began walking, but this was not to be. The area is so beautiful and there are quite a few wood carvings and the like to make the walk even more enjoyable. Also hidden around the walks are a series of geocaches, so something else to do whilst walking around. One thing that annoyed us quite a lot was that there was a free-standing sign for Roscoes Deli and Farm Shop that was pointing away from the route we were taking, but we decided to follow the instructions on the sign in the hope of at last getting that cup of tea we were yearning for, but after a long walk in the opposite direction and more signs we found the deli which was also closed. Why can’t they take in the signs when they are not open? Just sheer laziness as far as we were concerned!

Pleasant walks. Quite a few items to amuse young children. Play park. Huge slices of cake at the café. Some walks are surfaced which is handy when it's wet. Parking £2 Monday to Friday, £3 Saturday and Sunday.

A nice walk through maintained countryside, with some art and crafts style shops near the entrance. There is a £2 charge for parking.

Our child loved the park here and there was plenty to keep him entertained for well over an hour. T
he café was running from a table outside as a covid precaution, which was slow as it seemed there was just one young member of staff working. But when the food and drink arrived it was lovely, and being in the middle of a traditional English estate the setting was beautiful.
Would recommend.

Thornham Walks are a secret known to comparatively few and therefore all the more magical for those in the know. A series of trails , some of them hard standing but most
of them green, there is both open parkland and native woodland with a walled garden and the occasional folly and pet graves of the former owners. The walks are on the flat, but perhaps need stout shoes in wet weather. There are two entrances, one of which is to Thornham Coach house restaurant which has a good small menu and is open for lunches most days. There is a more basic, but good, cafe at he main entrance. Parking is cheap but a bit limited on busy weekends and there is a new visitor centre which is about to be opened, I think.. Suitable amusements for small children near the entrance. Well worth a visit, and dogs are welcome. We visit more and more as our physical abilities lessen as this is still somewhere which we can enjoy without much effort.

My husband and myself visited on a Sunday morning, we arrived to find the car park full but found a space on the overflow carpark across the road.
There are some signs up giving information of the estate and points of interest and we purchased a map from the Coach House which was more useful.
We only visited a small part of the estate walks and it was lovely, such a nice place to walk around. Lots to see including wooden carvings, the Pinetorum, Chapel and Folly.
I highly recommend a visit here and we will return again if in the area.
