A fun tour in a cool space

We learned a lot in our tour and Greg gave us lots of samples too. The Distillery is in an old forge and is a character filled space. There are plenty of liquor options as well as other merchandise. Even without a tour, it's a good place to browse and perhaps enjoy a sample or two. Easy walking distance to the waterfront and other shops.

Good tour

We did the 45 minute tour and tasting today. Great experience. It was informative and interesting to learn about the building history and about the spirits. The tasting portion was definitely worth the $25 tour price. Highly recommend.

Maple Rum in Historic Ironworks Building

If you are nearby and appreciate quality spirits, I suggest sopping at the distillery. The liquors are wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed complimentary samples in the historic ironworks building. The building itself has been updated only to a point, maintaining its authenticity and charm. We purchased the maple rum, with just a hint of sweetness, the gin and vodka.

Blacksmith to Distillery... Well Played.

Being a fan of both history and rum, this stop was a no brainer !! The building just oozes with history as you step into it. The lady let us try a few samples of their offerings (kicks the day off with a bang !) and we chatted on the history of the original blacksmith shop and ownership. We liked and purchased their vodka and Bluenose rum. Make it a stop if you are in town.

We did a tasting tour and couldn’t believe how great it was! There were plenty of tastings and our spirit sommelier Meg, was incredible! So much knowledge about the products and really made the experience that much better! 100% recommend this!!! The raspberry liquor was deliciousssss!!

Great product with a large selection of different product overall.
We did the tour and did enjoy it alot! I dont remember the name of the tour guide but she was quite perfect to share the informations.I been to many distillery in my life but this one was quite neat according to the local history of lunenburg . I liked the bluenose rum quite alot.

Fun little stop

Knowledgeable staff. Tiny place that had a few nice alcoholic beverages. From there Vodka to Rum, it was all nice. Been there every time we are back in Nova Scotia

Had a great visit to Ironworks distillery. The tasting experience is not to be missed! Fabulous service. Came away with a bottle of their maple rum and some sample liquors… hummm hummm

Worth the stop

Excellent staff, yummy spirits, great gift idea! We stopped in with kids in tow and they entertained themselves nearby while we sampled spirits. Some of the best spirits we tried on island.

Wonderful find in a small town

The Ironworks is a small distillery that produces gin, vodka and rum along with a few other liqueurs. We spent a good hour or so talking with John about the distillery, how the products are made and a variety of other topics along with sampling their products. If you go look for John. He's a tall gentleman from England who will enjoyably talk your ear off. We had a wonderful time.
