Beautiful Falls

Called into Kicking Horse River to see the falls on our way back from Lake Emerald to Banff. Great views and well worth a stop for a hour or so.

Spectacular in early summer with snow melt water

Visited river in several locations. As snow melt had been late this year river was spectacular. The hike to Wappta Falls lets you see the river in its glory.

Beautiful river

2020年9月

You get a view of this amazing river along the Trans Canada Highway while driving but if you want to get up and close to the river I would suggest making the stop at the Naural Bridge in the Yoho National Park.

At the stop, you get to see the truly beautiful and rush of the water. Here also you can get up and close to the water and take some amazing pictures.

Powerful river

All the mountains rivers are powerful and mesmerizing. Kicking Horse River is no exception, especially at the meeting point merging with the Yoho river.

Canadian Heritage River

2019年5月

Driving on the Trans Canada Highway from the Kicking Horse Pass to Yoho, you will see this river along the highway. We stopped at the Visitor Centre in Field and walked accross the bridge to enjoy the beauty of the water, it's kind of light turquoise. There is a plaque on a big rock at the area telling you about how was the name 'kicking horse' came from. It's funny.

Mooie rivier in British Columbia

Niet ver over de grens met Alberta vind je deze rivier, vlak langs de Trans Canada Highway. Je hebt er een mooi uitzicht, vlakbij een visitor centre van Yoho. Leuk om even langs te rijden en een paar foto's te maken.

Where the Rivers Meet is Hard to see through the trees

Where the Rivers Meet the YoHo and Kicking Horse is a great idea and looks neat through tree limbs, but I could not find a good spot to get a picture. Several other reviewers had written they got good photos. It is very difficult to see through the trees. I walked around a bit and could not find an opening for a view.

Go to where the rivers meet

2019年9月

We stayed in Cathedral Mountain Lodge which is on the banks of Kicking Horse river. It is milky white, quite fast moving but not deep.
Drive or walk towards the falls and see where the Yo Ho and Kicking Horse rivers meet. Great photo opportunity.
