This is a great old Movie Theater! It has been showing movies since 1913!
We went to see Aladdin. Clearly the projection system has been upgraded to FULL digital. And the screen is in good shape too - clear and crisp picture.
The audio system has been upgraded too! It is not the most high-end audio, but very respectable considering the venue and the low use.
And I cannot do a review without mentioning that the popcorn at this theater is some of the best, if not THE best, popcorn I have had at ANY movie theater anyhwere! I got the Medium. I went through it in no time! Next time I will get the large - it is worth it!
That was the good... now the not so good...
The seats in this theater are the good old fashioned disgustingly uncomfortable seats with NO ELBOW ROOM. I do not expect a venue like this to migrate to the recliner seats of much larger venues, but they could at least re-cushion the seats! My butt hurt by the time the movie was half over.
As crazy as it sounds, this theater had NO AIR CONDITIONING! It was not noticeable at first, but by the time the movie was over the theater was HOT, and there was a decided lack of oxygen. I cannot imagine seeing a long run length (say greater than 2 hours) movie in this venue!
To keep costs down, this theater accepts CASH ONLY. This was no problem for us as we read the website before we went and had cash. This to me is not a negative, but you do need to know before you pop over!
The theater only shows movies once per night. On rare occasions there might be a matinee - but don't count on it!
All in all we would go back here, but not for any movie that is longer than 2 hours - not without bringing our own cushions (and maybe a personal fan!)

I was thrilled to go to the Patricia Theatre. They had a movie running that I had been hoping to see, and to see it in a gorgeous old theatre was a huge bonus. It's well maintained and you're likely to hear half the audience greeting each other before the show if you go early. Powell River is a small town, so it seemed that almost everyone knew each other.
The Patricia is in the historic district of Powell River in easy walking distance to restaurants and hotels. If you're here, make sure you go.

Great original old theatre with huge artwork in the theatre. Love the concession pricing and charm. If it weren't for the uncomfortable seats, this would be great. Great nastalgic place complete with an organ.

A trip back in time, watching a movie at this theatre established 1913 in Powell River BC.
This is the oldest, longest running theatre in Canada situated in the historical townsite area.A real gem!

This place is a real find . Beautifully restored first run movie theatre that claims to be the oldest in the province . Nice big auditorium . Beautiful panel paintings . Great concession area with a very pleasant server . Very good popcorn . Seats are old and not up to current comfort standards but not bad . Apparently they came from Vancouver's Orpheus when they did a switch out . Digital format ,decent ( not perfect ) sound . Dress warm if it is cold out . It must be hard to heat such a big old building and , although I thought I was dressed warmly , I was very cold by half time .

This is wonderful venue to view the latest release movies in style. Plush comfortable seats that were taken from the Voque Theature in Vancouver. Murals on the walls, new projector and sound system. Popcorn and treats are offered at way less than multi plex theaters.

The fact I can be used for this one was injured in the morning to all to be able too many times do I get my nails done and dusted with a new phone case you want me on Twitter but not a fan
