A good way to see the waterways of Bristol. Travelled from the SS Great Britain to City Park all for £6. I did not realise that Bristol was such a scenic buzzy place.

Caught the local bus into Bristol and decided to walk along the harbour side. Decided to do the 40 minute trip around the harbour (11.00 hours from Broad Quay - Cascade Steps on Matilda). £8 each which is good value for the distance you travel and the sights you see and pass on the water. Crew were cheerful, polite and helpful pointing out things and answering passengers’ questions. Well worth doing, if you are new to Bristol (last time we did the trip was back in the late 90s).

We bought the day ticket, and that was great value at £12 each. We had the timetable and map printed off from the inter-web, and started at Temple Meads after arriving by train from Bath Spa. The route covers City Centre, SS Great Britain and beyond and you can use the ferry for individual journeys, hop on hop off, or just for a cruise of the harbour. we liked the relaxed nature of the journey the friendly staff, and the chance to leave the car at home. It is truly a great asset to the City of Bristol, and all credit to those who run the company, for their battle against adversity having had to cope with a devastating fire in their boatyard earlier this year.

Absolutely brilliant boat party 100% recommend! There was 19 of us for my friend’s stag do where we hired the boat Matilda. Everything ran smoothy and we cannot thank the crew Michael and Jenny enough who couldn’t do enough for us! It had everything you need for a boat party, including a bar, speaker system and toilet! The pub stop off was great halfway through was great! It was lovely to see Bristol from the harbour too! Would highly recommend thank you so much! A very happy stag!

The waterbus is a great way to get around if it's your first visit to Bristol. The crew were very friendly and informative. If you arrive by train into Temple Meads, the Temple Quay stop is only a couple of minutes walk.

We had a fabulous tour around the docks at the weekend. We took the trip from Neptune’s statue to Temple Meads and then back to Hotwells. Although we’d visited all the places before it was great to get a waterline perspective. Our granddaughter absolutely loved it and would have happily gone round again. The crew were friendly and prices were a bargain. Let’s hope the mayor doesn’t proceed with his plan to double fees for waterway use so these little communities can continue to thrive.

Took a 45 minute boat trip. Nice to see harbour from a different angle. Disappointed with the commentary, could not hear. Asked for sound to be turned but didn’t mark any difference, so lost interest.
There were several boats about, perhaps we were just unlucky with the one we hopped on.

The prices were very reasonable so you get to see part of the city from a different angle. We chanced across a landing point just as the boat was arriving so we were lucky as the signage wasn't too clear. Well-recommended.

How long is the walk from temple meads station to the water taxi stop and is it easy to find ?

Look for sign to boats, before leaving the station, to the right of the station main exit . It’s a short ( few minutes)flat walk to the nearest stop. Walk past some shops on the left, including a Starbucks. You can get on any boat ...some just take you to the city centre for a couple of pounds, where you have then a choice of trips.
