Excellent tour. Our Roman guide was very knowledge and entertaining we learned a lot about the Roman history in England and visited the underground ruins. Definitely recommend taking this tour.

This was a very enjoyable tour. The Centurion that marched us around the various points of interest was superb. He had clearly researched well and had a great deal of knowledge. He was also passionate about the Roman period in Chester.

Lovely tour. Cassius was very knowledgable. Interesting to visit places below ground that you would not normally see. Cassius involved us constantly by asking questions to keep us involved. Would recommend.

Incredible, 'Atticus' was extremely knowledgable and informative. Humour, facts and drama, he cared and was passionate aboit the history and nothing was too much trouble for him.

Thoroughly recommend! We had a brilliant walking tour with Cassius around Chester today with our 4 & 7 year old. Cassius was informative, creative and funny. He was great with the kids but also spoke to the adults and to be honest I wasn’t bothered about it at all, I booked it for our son who is studying the Romans at school but within about 3 minutes I was hooked and engaged and Cassius kept me entertained throughout the 1.5 hour experience, and came away thinking about it all long after the tour finished. We come to Chester every year and I’ll never think of it the same way again. I wouldn’t mind doing it again next year.
It was the only part of the day where the kids didn’t argue or tell us they were bored constantly so a massive thumbs up and I would totally recommend to families and couples young or wise! Cassius was amazing, so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. :)

Had a great tour with Cassius. Very interesting and informative. The day to day activities of a Roman soldier where fascinating and the diagnostic procedures the medics used were interesting to say the least.
Would highly recommend going on this tour.

Thoroughly enjoyed our walk around Chester with Crassus. He was very knowledgeable, funny and thorough. We walked at a pace that everyone could manage,and he spoke to and included our daughter who has learning difficulties. Crassus, or Ugly in English , gave us ample opportunity to ask questions, answered them all brilliantly, and recommended other places to visit. THANK YOU UGLY, YOU ARE FAB.

It was a great 90 minute trip listening to an enthusiastic expert who was able to point out things we would have missed.
He was absolutely brilliant with both our children and they absolutely loved strolling around the centre of Chester with a real Roman.

The Chester Visitor information center is at Town Hall
Northgate Street Chester CH1 2HJ. Just walk in and tell them when you would like to book. You meet your soldier right in front.

It can be, but you'd be missing out on some of the better parts of the tour (the basement of Pret a Manger). The tour guide, regardless, accommodates.

We are sometimes able to get basement access to show still existing remains. Clean Dry and no more than entering a shop.
