Fantastic walk with beautiful views over part of the South West Coast Path. Coffee on the way at Talland Bay Beach Café. Return from Looe 10 miles. Polperro is like going back in time 100 years....

Great walk with amazing views. Muddy in the rain so walking shoes are best. Lots of chances for a rest and some nice cafes on the beach at Talland, with toilets available at this time of year. We preferred the Talland Bay Beach Cafe stop. Staff were much more welcoming and the ice cream was a nice treat. There were some steep steps however if you take your time they are managable. Once at Polperro the bus back is a welcomed break.

I am not a ‘walker’ but am fit and healthy 60 year old.
Loads of steps loads of effort but it was worth it! Go at your own pace - it’s quite up and down but the views are amazing!

A great walk with amazing views, it really is unbelievable when some people give poor reviews because there’s not enough benches and it’s too steep. There really are plenty of benches and resting points. It’s actually so good I did it twice. The only slight downside is that the toilets( we were relying on) halfway through were closed for the whole year.
It just made us walk a little quicker to Polperro.
I understand it can get muddy in parts in the winter but an August walk was perfectly fine.

We parked at Hendersick free National Trust carpark. Follow the path through the small gate, bear right through the sheep field, head towards the sea (straight infront of you) and follow the path heading right …,, it will lead to Polperro village.
Lots of places to get a Cornish pasty, cakes, ice- creams and stunning gift shops. Boat trip are available too but not on Sundays at this time of year. There is a small beach area and great rock pooling too!
The walk is ideal for families and anyone else- younger kids would need to be used to walking- not accessible for prams /wheels chairs. We passed lots of dog walkers!
The views are stunning and so far this has to be my favourite UK walk- and have walked a lot!
Apparently you can get bus back to Looe but we made the most of the views and sunshine and walked back.

Harder than expected in areas but beautiful views. I would say of you are not a regular walker then it will take you longer than the average time stated. Worth the walk to Talland Bay for a coffee!!

A little chilly under foot given the time of year and some steep ascents and descents some on staircases in varying condition, but taking that all into account a stunning stretch of the South West Coast Path to enjoy with a lovely pub - The Three Pilchards - to recharge at the end and bask in that personal sense of achievement!

Brilliant walk, even following this wet weather the path was still accessible, not boggy. Obviously good footwear required. Good views. Great coastal walk.

Dogs are allowed on Hannafore West Looe shoreline. It is not a beach really. The local council decided to refuse to allow dogs on East Looe main beach about 15 years ago. Although they were once allowed in the wnter months.

I'd love to do this walk when we visit next weekend but I have had one knee replacement and am due to have the other knee done in the next month or so. Other than that I'm a fairly fit 52 yr old! Am I being over ambitious in attempting this walk? Any thoughts would be appreciated

I’m 75 and I did it last month. There are some pretty steep parts and lots of stairs but the views are well worth the hike. Not a problem for the youngsters. Stop in Talland Bay for an ice cream. Be sure to take water!

Has anyone done the walk which starts in Polperro near Crumplehorn and goes up Landivdy Lane up the back of the car park and takes you towards Sclerder Abbey?

Can one walk only part of the way? We are 75 and 85 and 10 miles is beyond us.

It's not an easy walk. If you are starting from Looe I suggest you just walk up Hannafore to the pastures. You can go further but it's not easy.
From Polperro you walk up the Warren to the cliff top, then if you keep left you can walk over the top into Killigarth and back down Talland Hill back into Polperro.
Hope this helps

We walked from our BnB we were staying at for a week so parking wasnt an issues but Peter answered you can park on the road side in Hannafore :-)
