Popped into the gift shop side of the post office to buy one thing quickly. However my sons realised there was a ‘treasure chest’ of goodies to collect and buy with their pocket money. The guy working in the shop was so lovely! He chatted to my boys like they were his own family, telling my boys the best places in Polperro to find sea glass (which we went to and found LOADS, which made the trip even more special!). Really friendly staff and not overpriced on gifts which some places can be!!

One member of staff not interested in serving me. Other member of staff rudely answered "No the post office is shut!" when I asked if I could get some stamps. No welcome, no smiles and no thank you for buying a couple of little souvenirs.

Wake up Polperro!….It used to be such a friendly place,have been coming there for years…sadly not anymore ☹️Shop keepers rude especially the Postmistress…All making it very clear they do not want holiday makers….Shops hardly ever open and when they are all you get is treated with contempt. What’s happened?…Also very dog friendly which is lovely, but not so lovely now owners are leaving dogs mess all over..The museum cafe owner is lovely, the other lady serving makes you feel you are wasting her time, everything is an effort!…..Such a shame come on shop keepers treat people with respect not like a nuisance….The post office staff are probably the most arrogant, rude people I have ever met…No welcome anymore in Polperro ☹️

My wife purchased some items in this shop and was very pleased with the service she received from the shop assistant. Friendly and conversational was what she said. Well done!

On putting one foot inside this shop I was shouted at by the rude, aggressive woman serving ‘TEMPERATURE’!!!!!
I can read and would have taken my temperature without being barked at, I just needed to get inside.
When I had got inside ( temp was fine) & used hand gel, I heard the same woman shout ‘ GET OUT’ she was shouting at an elderly gentleman who had dared to pop his head into the shop to see if his wife was in.
I like most of Britain are really pleased to see shops taking Covid precautions seriously & know it can’t always be easy what I really do not accept and will not tolerate is being yelled at and spoken to like a piece of rubbish.
I can’t really tell you anything about what the shop was selling as being glared at from behind the till made me feel so uncomfortable I just left. So much for Cornish charm & friendliness.

The review regarding rude staff resonated with me - the lady in the shop is possibly the rudest person I have ever met. She reduced my teenage daughter to tears - shame on you. Our experience in this shop has meant that we are unlikely to ever visit Polperro again

Firstly the woman in the gift shop has been the rudest person I have met in the whole area. Needs to look for another job (not in a food outlet) that wouldn’t be at all helpful to her!!!
Avoid this place unless you want to be confronted by rude staff and presented by cheap tat.

We popped in here whilst on a day out to polperro and asked whether it was ok if our two small Chihuahuas to come in and she said no problem at all. In fact when we returned later for mom to get her Poldark mug :) she asked where the dogs were and said they were with my husband. She was very friendly and welcoming and had some lovely gifts.

Just read last review . Yes car park is minimum £4-50 . But Polperro shops and restaurants don't own it or have a say in charges . In summer Polperro is wonderful in winter as most small sea side ports are it quiet the locals are taking there holiday
. But the village is still wonderful if you look . The Polperro post office is part of the Hart along with the Bakery and local pubs and clubs. So if you go to Polperro on a cold wet day in December expect a small fishing port in December 😊

Having got to the car park in mid December, I was appalled at the parking charges where the minimum charge was £4.50 for a three hour stay. This may be fine in high Summer, but for a quick walk around and possibly a cup of tea in the midst of Winter is out of the question. Will not return ever again, even if staying no more than two miles away
