Appalling service! In fact none at all, as we were stranded at Dartmouth pontoon, as were told by the captain of the ferry that it didn’t go to Dittisham despite the fact that we had been able to book 3 single tickets!!! No information saying that the 4.30 didn’t go to Dittisham when we booked! The captain says this happens all the time so they are aware and have done nothing to prevent it happening time and time again . We are fuming and stranded!!!!

This is a combination of good and bad !
The instructions regarding this ferry were not easily understood! Going from Dittisham apparently requires a ringing of a bell for a small ferry to come and pick you up to take you to the other side (greenway) to get on the larger ferry to Dartmouth. This should be explained with the confirmation of ticket purchase email.
The smaller ferryman was not pleasant and obviously frustrated at our lack of insight to this process. we were there in plenty of time but did not realize we had to cross first and stood at the dock waiting!! It was only when the ‘competition’ ferry arrived (this IS a direct ferry) and the staff told us we had to ring the bell we did so but were at the last minute, not late just on time! Now when I look i see that the ‘other’ ferry was direct AND 2 pounds cheaper so unsure why anyone would choose an indirect route and pay more, except if you were like me and did not research fully. Take this as your warning !!!
On the plus side the staff on the larger Greenway ferry were really nice and made our beautiful trip
to Dartmouth great. BE WARNED !!!!

What a lovely trip to Greenway. The captain pointed out places of interest and some historical information we even had the delight of seeing 2 seals on our way back.

Easy to book on-line but did not specify where you board clearly enough so we had to ask a guide on the quay as the Greeway and Dittisham kiosk was closed. The journey was really lovely and smooth and also comfortable. My only gripe is that when you go to the Greenway website there is a link to the ferry but it doesn't work. Used the independent ferry websites instead. When we got to the quayside other services ran to Greenway and they were £2 per person cheaper which was annoying.

We went on the ferry to get to Agatha Christies house it's a nice boat with great views from the top deck when its sunny (definitely bring a hat if it is sunny) but you have the option to go inside if it's raining. The driver has good facts about various things on your trip like the naval college on the hill and who owns what boat houses.

We took the ferry from Dartmouth to Greenway and back today. We had booked for tomorrow but wanted to go today as the weather looks like it will be worse tomorrow. This proved not to be a problem at all so thanks to everyone for accommodating us. On the trip to Greenway we sat on the open deck and enjoyed the commentary, pointing out things to left and right. It started raining while we were at Greenways and we were properly soaked by the time we made our way back to the landing stage. There is a small gazebo which provided some shelter while waiting for the return ferry. We queued in the rain to secure space in the lower "saloon" which is covered and sat glumly in our wet gear for the return. No commentary on the way back other than the safety briefing.

We booked and paid for a ferry trip to Dittisham and back last week. We paid at the kiosk and he told us to wait on the Quay 10 minutes before. It was the 12 o'clock trip. We arrived and were 2nd in line. After 5 minutes a lot of people started to arrive and pushed past us. They were a coach party of entitled chavs with a very loud mouthed bossy coach organiser. He was even trying to get his passengers on board by pushing in whilst we were trying to board. The ferry man just allowed him to do it. No where did it say that anyone has priority over anyone else. They all got off at Agatha Christies house and us and the other couple who were first in line then had the return journey on our own in peace. No problems with the journey but the general public are a nightmare these days. Uncouth with no manners and it was nice when they all got off and went on their way to cause havoc elsewhere. There should be a clearer notice of where to queue and someone to stand there to guide people on. It was pandamonium. I dread to think what its like at the height of summer.

We rang the bell after being told he would come straight away the main ferry was waiting and by the time he came we missed the ferry. He was just talking in the ice cream booth and didn’t bother that we had called him. It was raining g and he didn’t wipe the seats on the boat we had to do it and then sit on wet seats as he said he couldn’t see if we stood. He was rude and unhelpful. Get the little ferry from Dartmouth straight to dittisham don’t use the greenway dittisham ferry. We left a tip on the way over and wished we hadn’t !

Appalling. The guy piloting the ferry is arrogant, rude, inappropriate and inefficient. Both journeys to and from Greenway were unacceptable. Too busy playing with drones and cracking unfunny inappropriate jokes and not enough time on customer service. At one point told us we were lying when we said how long we had been waiting. Absolutely unforgivable. He seems to think he’s some sort of character when in fact he’s just a complete idiot. Very poor introduction to Greenway even if they are independent. Have been using this service on and off for 25 years and will drive in future.

A great way to travel to Greenway, much better than driving the narrow lanes.
Boat was clean and the crew friendly.
We bought our ticket from the kiosk opposite Boots. A lovely friendly chap sorted our tickets.
The boat trip really added to a wonderful day visiting Agatha Christie’s Greenway.

There is a public Pay & Display car park in Manor Road Dartmouth which is about 5 minutes walk from the ferry.
