Very enjoyable way to see the area, the commentary was informative and entertaining. Beautiful views and an easy relaxing way to spend an hour or so!

Fabulous afternoon spent on the Kingswear Castle...great commentary too. Been comingbto Dartmouth for years but learnt quite a few pieces of interesting info etc. Beautiful vessel and lovely scenery...what else could you ask for. Thank you for making my husbands birthday special.

Very relaxing cruise with running commentary about the area and its history from the skipper and added stories that will make you smile. Although it was very busy it was well organised. We caught the steam train from Paignton to Kingsweare before catching the boat at Dartmouth.

A lovely trip up and down the river with friendly, informative commentary. There are a lot of different seating areas to chose from which should suit all tastes.
The Captain has a sense of humour which adds to the narrative and we learnt about the various houses and castles on the river frontage.
You can also go and watch the steam paddle actually working and the engineer stoking the fire with coal.

This is a really special experience, especially on a sunny day. I suppose the ship is almost unique now, but she is still steaming splendidly and, apart from a very attractive and entertaining tour of a beautiful place, she is a window onto a past world of day excursions. The machinery is open so that steam-buffs can enjoy their affliction, the scenery is grand, and the harbour generally is alive with life. The commentary is decent too. If I was being picky I might have a mutter about the management of the passengers ashore before boarding, which was a little brusque on a busy day, but the crew on board were great. I'd probably have given this vessel a '5' rating anyway, but at this price... an hour's harbour cruise on a genuine heritage vessel for under a tenner... there's no doubt at all.

Loved our river outing beautiful scenery lots of lovely homes and on the river and a castle which had been there since 1420 not only that it had been destroyed twice before that and rebuilt ,quite amazing ,the captain was brilliant kept us entertained aswell as telling us all about the surroundings on the river,there’s a great view of the Britannia Royal Navel College up on the hill which is amazing,there a bar on the boat for soft drinks and snacks and also alcoholic beverages,toilets onboard ,it’s a really nice trip to do it takes 1 hour which is ample time to see the lovely views

A lovely river and steam train trip to Paignton.
Unfortunately, the commentator, Stuart, felt it was appropriate to give his very personal opinions on 2nd home owners, £1m homes, unaffordable 'affordable' housing and more!

What a beautifully preserved paddle steamer. The only one left in Britain. Well worth the money. Crew informative and friendly. Don’t forget to tip the captains cap as you disembark. The toilet is a must do experience very ornate and a challenge if you are a shorty lol! A small bar in the galley if you want refreshments whilst onboard. A chance to see the engineer stoking the engine by looking through the viewing window at midship. Well worth the journey up and down the river on this beautiful ship/boat

Day trip to Dartmouth - Booked on day at Kiosk - Quayside. Jim was our host and was very imforative. A+++ to him for providing us with information, booking us on the 1.30pm trip and making it so easy. Contactless Payment. The trip was reduced to the same cost per adult as the usual ferry trip so this was a plus for us. £8.50 each for trip up and down river. Crew were very informative with on board commentary about what we were seeing.
Face masks were requested whilst on board. Although some passengers disregarded this. Staff advised by safety talk but did not enforce on boat!!
Highly recommended as a boat trip.
Toilets before/after trip - the ones along the quay side get busy - due to coach trippers. Walk about 5 minutes to the old market. Toilets in corner of building - not busy.

This was part of our £27 that we paid for to go on the train and the ferry. The staff were very professional and ensured that distancing wasn’t organised well. Great being on a paddle steamer after the train - so traditional.

Dear janetlittlebaby!
You do not usually need to book in advance for the paddle steamer but we suggest you do arrive in reasonable time to purchase your ticket as the publicised departure times are very accurate. If you are making a special trip, please do give us a call on the day (or day before) you'd like to travel just to check she is running to schedule. We'd hate for you to travel here and miss out should something unexpected happen.
We do hope you enjoy the trip on this lovely old vessel. We are very proud to be operating her!
