We went to Crocketts on a busy Saturday afternoon as it was the only place that was not yet full. My family remarked that the female server behind the bar was a little rude but I just brushed it off, however it kept getting worse.
On ordering at the bar I asked if they were able to do a flat white. They responded by saying they only do a double espresso and as it was "not a coffee shop" it would not be very nice, I found this rude and unnecessary especially as there was a coffee machine in plain sight behind the bar. We paid for our drinks and sat upstairs.
Later the same sever rushed to our table, snatched my family members water from the table (as it was resting on a paper menu) and advised that perhaps we should use a napkin instead of their menus to rest the drink on, she then put it on a set of napkins. If they are concerned about the menus, perhaps they should provide something suitable to rest a drink on and allow people to have a drink in peace. We wanted another drink but went elsewhere.
I try to avoid bad reviews as I know there are two sides to every story but my sister had come all the way from Australia, it was her birthday and we were all left really disappointed by the experience.
To be fair the drinks were good but we won't be returning when you are charged so highly to be spoken to in such a way. I appreciate it is a very stressful time for hospitality at the moment but please don't take this out on customers.

Had an amazing time here with a large group of 18. Service was amazing and our host Jess was incredibly knowledgeable about all things Gin!! Looking forward to returning and trying more of their delicious drinks

Great gin bar. Lovely atmosphere inside and service. Very very knowledgeable on their gins and a large collection. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Amazing little hidden gem out the way in candy street .. amazing amount of variety to drink and the staff were very friendly and as a whiskey fan myself the guy was very knowledgeable about his drinks.. the mellow corn was tried and is now in the collection thanks guys !!

The best bar staff, super friendly and incredibly talented bartenders, huge respect, if you want the best quality cocktails in exeter come to crocketts!! No faults at all

My first time here and it was amazing! The staff (especially Jess) knew so much about what they were serving and chose me drinks based on my taste and I loved every single one! We got to taste a couple to see what we liked and Jess talked us through everything and her recommendations and fun facts all throughout the night! The gin was all excellent and the cocktails are some of the best we'd had and a a reasonable price! Absolutely brilliant evening will definitely come again

Third time we’ve been here and felt compelled to leave a review because we had such a fantastic experience each time, but especially tonight.
The doorman Efe sets the tone perfectly when you arrive- he is always polite, efficient and extremely professional- if only more doormen were like him, the world would be a much happier place!
Our bartender, Jess, provided us with some great advice, talking us through our likes, dislikes, how adventurous we felt like being- and as a result, we left with 2 new gins on our shopping list which we’d never have found on our own!
In short, a brilliant establishment in every way, but the staff never fail to impress and so we particularly wanted to celebrate them. We’ll keep this a regular on our bar crawl route!

Wow...what an amazing cocktail bar. From start to finish the whole experience really made our night.
Jess looked after us for the evening, she went out of her way to ensure we were made a cocktail to our individual tastes...Jess gave us the history on many drinks and beamed with enthusiasm in her role.
Even tho the bar was packed with festivities, Jess kept us up dated on our drinks and was deadicated to finding us a drink we would really like.
Going onto the drinks...I highly reccomend a margarita 🍹...the best ive had..smooth and delicious!...Thank you Jess and team for making our night a wonderful experience. Xx
