Brilliant place to take the bikes and feel safe with the kids riding. The disused railway line is tarmac sealed which is popular for running, walking and cycling. We park at plymbridge woods and cycle up to yelverton, and have a meal at the rock inn and come back.
It is a slight incline going there which takes on bikes about 1:30mins and then coming back it is 55mins.

One of the most loveliest places to have a walk. So beautiful and so much thriving wildlife (which is lovely to see). Keep up the great work at the Peregrine project.

Beautiful woodland walks/trails. Peaceful and a great place for seeing nature at its finest, particularly if you get off the beaten track a little! Fantastic for dog walking (keep an eye/ear out for bikes also enjoying the woods), several nice shallow areas of of the river for the dogs - or yourself! - to have a paddle. You will find ruins of old railway cottages, viaducts/bridges and there is a Peregrine falcon project in place. I spoke with some of the volunteers of the project recently who were very knowledgeable and helpful, their telescopes made for easy viewing of chicks. Highly recommend visiting - also free parking on site which is a plus.

A great place for a walk or explore nature. Temperate rainforest woodlands, rapids, old trails and so on
It is very relaxing and attracts lots of people - solo, in pairs and in groups plus people walking dogs

Beautiful place to walk and escape the city, a very scenic and peaceful area. Beautiful waterfalls that you should visit when there.

Gets busy at weekends but at other times can be really peaceful and secluded. Look out for cyclists speeding up from behind though.

I grew up in the area and used to swim in the river at Plymbridge Woods in the 1970s. Returning there was a wonderful reminder of its quiet and understated beauty, helping you to step back in time.

I have walked the dog along river bank from the thow path to the meadow and back vire the railway level crossing along side the leat many times today was very dry under foot but as good as always. Their are still a lot of trees down as I have pointed out to someone before and these are spoiling the river and need attending to before they block it completely

Absolutelly nice , frendly, beautifull little forest. Good for family or dogwalking. The little river just amazing.

Is camping allowed in Plymbridge? I remember camping when I was younger and there is (what looks like) a campsite nearby the parking with a fire pit etc - just want to know if there is an official word on this. Thanks!

Hi, apologies for the delay, only just seen this. We've been there a lot on bikes and never sen anyone camping along the trail. However, there may well be campsites along the way in fields nearby. Hope that helps.

Hi,
There is a disused canal that runs along side the old track bed towards the plym bridge section of the route. This can be found either side of the railway bridge adjacent and below the plym bridge station. The canal was used to transport slate from Cann quary which is still visible from Cann viaduct. The foundations of the quarry masters house can be found above the bridge over the old track bed close to Cann viaduct also. Lots of history here!
