Not sure whether this place changes hands or just flavour. At the moment it is operating, in whole or in part as Kukala a Tiki bar with a lot of different cocktails and often selling them 2-4-1 until midnight. All is sort of explained or at least scheduled on the Kukala FB page.

Spent many of a weekend in here very good club fun always welcoming and the owner often greets you. Good club to start the night and very good for 18-30's

Last year it change its name and then back to Raw. Now it's changed to FOCUS but who knows for how long.

Times move on and new owners/managers at these premises have now opened Stereo 6 which was very busy on New Years Eve.

Not the most packed nightclub if you go in early but it's a right laugh with all the flashing lights and the poles! so funny with friends and drinks are reasonable! The owner is a really lovely man aswell! I always go here on a night out x

Okay where do I start...
My friend & I went to Whitby for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. Beforehand, we had been looking at the different bars/ pubs & clubs we could go to. Raw looked pretty promising. On the Facebook page it states that there are different rooms inside that play different kinda of music. Which sounded perfect to us because we're into more alternative music. Once we paid the £6.50 entry price... Yep... We were told that the other room was 'only open on bank holidays' great... We then decided to get a drink, which can I just say were the most expensive compared to everywhere else we had been to in Whitby. We were greeted by the very rude & bi*chy bar staff who rolled their eyes, talked with attitude & changed the prices of drinks every time we got one... Defo got ripped off. The young girl at the entrance who you payed to get in was ridiculously miserable.
Oh, & before we went into Raw, we went to The Welly (accross the road) to get an early entry sticker so it would only cost a pound to get into Raw. They had ran out & we were treated with the same bad, ratty attitude as we were in Raw. Most of the people in there were horrible too. We had drinks spilt on us, men push past us with force & girls just being mean. Everyone seemed to hate each other. Terrible terrible atmosphere & definitely a waste of money. Avoid at all costs!

In a few weeks ago and had a good time. Interesting mix of people . Not bad music. Smaller than other clubs or bars close by. One odd event. A guy came in taking flash photographs of everyone, which plainly upset several groups of people. While he was close to where we were sitting he took some shots of some slightly older guys only to find himself confronted and challenged by one or more men who obviously objected to being photographed without their consent. Brief fisticuffs. Some talk of police. Don't know how far it went, presumably the photographer had a picture of the suspected assailant. A bit off putting for the rest of us. We learnt later that this guy wanders many of the clubs every week taking shots of people on the tiles. Not sure I would want my mum or work colleagues to see that plastered all over the local daily newspaper. Be warned.

Got brought here quite late by Plymouth friends. small club that I've passed several times because it looks from the outside like a derelict shop unit. Inside its narrow but at 1am it was heaving with a good natured crowd and we had a very good time.

Not a regular here but have generally had a good time when we come. Markets itself as an 'adult' venue but there has been no stripping or overt sexual activity on our visits so I suppose the management use the word in a more 'grown up' context, possibly meaning that it is not geared towards silly over lubricated teens. That said we find that there is usually an interesting bunch of revellers with plenty of people up for a good time and more. Don't be put off by the bedraggled frontage hidden in behind the bus shelters.

At the top end of Union St. Smaller than most clubs but relaxed and has a safe feel. Have had some good times here.
