Not a long trip up but excellent views and a fun experience. Touch screen booking but helpful staff are on hand.

ts a cliff lift whats to say it was clean and tidy and it goes up and down lol
a touch pricey at £1.85 per trip ie up or down so £3.70 up and down so would be qute expensive for a family
its saving grace it does take you to a lovely beach

Poor Staff

We wife who is disabled took this to descend down the cliff,when we got to the bottom we were stuck in the lift because the girl operating the lift was playing on her phone and was unaware of us in the lift . Very poor had to knock and shout to get her attention.

Transport of delight

Functionality being taken for granted, there is so much to love about a cliff railway. At West Cliff, the views are grand, and the ride is a transport of delight. Life's ups and downs would be so much more bearable on a cliff railway!

It really is a must!

If you are staying in Bournemouth, or just here for the day, you must do this cliff lift experience. I have seen similar in Cornwall but I think this is a one off for this area. A single trip is £1.75 and must easier option to get up the cliff than walking the Steps or Zig and Zags.

Wheelchair visit

We rode the west cliff funicular up to the Highcliff Marriot Hotel and the west cliff park at the top of the Zig zag path. It cost just a couple of pounds for all four of us and was great fun. Wheelchair access was easy and the staff were helpful.

Good small funicular railway at a good price

Me and my partner went on this whilst in Bournemouth only a small railway that's not to high. However at only 1.70 one way well worth a visit a small price to pay to help keep this maintained.good views

A great railway still going strong

If you like funicular railways then this is for you. Still going since 1926 and using the original electric system, it is joy to travel on taking you righ down to the gorgeous beach. All currently COVID compliant.
