In need of some Tender Loving Care

Lovely and historic venue which we always enjoy visiting. However it is in need of some Tender loving care and needs upgrading in a number of areas.
Also I can never understand why they don't let people upstairs earlier as it causes so much congestion in the foyer area.

Melt down at the ice cream stand

Excellent play, excellent seats. All staff friendly and despite card payments not working for a while when trying to get an interval ice cream, I got one in the end so it didn't matter. Except to the lady in front of me who was so disgusted at the WiFi being down. Honestly thought she was going to have a melt down, unlike the ice cream which was perfect temperature.
Maybe one kiosk to use cash might be good.

Difficult balance

One the positive side, a sensational show of the fisherman's friends and great young ticket staff.

On the negative, very slow through the front door, a building restricted by its design, far top few women's cubicles resulting in long queues. Many seats very uncomfortable if you are over 4 foot eleven.

Varna international ballet

We came to this lovely theatre last night to watch the nutcracker ballet it was a fully enjoyable prefomance .How ever we was surprised there was no lefts .But this was quickly resolved by theatre staff due to us attending with a wheelchair.The young ladie on the stalls was quick at attending are needs and we like to thankyou again very much .Can’t wait to attend again to this theatre.

EXCELLENT VENUE

Could well do with a lick of paint in the interior, but then, the theatre is about 250 years old, but the seating quite comfortable, and clean, and the bar acceptable. Recommended

AMENITIES/BAR NEED IMPROVEMENT

We Visit this Theatre frequently and always see an enjoyable show. The seating has been improved since the pandemic so can sit more comfortably without sinking through the middle of seat!
Unfortunately the ladies toilets on the Royal Circle need to be renovated and more cubicles added. You can spend the whole of the interval & longer queuing to get in the ladies !!!
The bar on the Royal Circle need more staff and there are a poor selection of beer, spirits and wine. There wasn't any lemons or limes to go into a gin & tonic or Vodka & tonic and a very poor selection of snacks. Could do with stocking up before a show with plain crisps, nuts etc as the only flavour was chilli !!!

Very organised and professional staff

It's a beautiful theatre inside. I first went with my school age 11, since then it's remained my favorite theatre. I recently took my grandkids to see Jurassic live which was brilliant, a great performance by the cast with the young Amber being outstanding.

Fabulous fun

Visited for the touring pantomime and had a lovely time. It’s not great for getting out in a rush but it’s a beautiful building. Overpriced drinks and snacks but nice for a treat.

Real old fashioned Theatre

First time visiting the Theatre Royal Brighton and what a venue. Real old fashioned theatre with all the character for an enjoyable evening. Had seats in the front row of the second circle and the view was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and friendly to us. Thank you Theatre Royal Brighton and can't wait to come back.

They have 2 bars in the theatre and you can take drinks from their into the auditorium you cannot take anything glass in so you are given plastic glasses.The bar upstairs has view of Royal Pavilion. It is a beautiful theatre so I hope you enjoy your visit.

There is plenty of leg room between the seats but you would still be dancing in an aisle....there is some space at the back of the Stalls on the ground floor where you could get alot more vigorous with your dancing. Like i said in the review, the view from anywhere in the Stalls is good. So going to the very back of the Stalls would give you the room you need.

Hello there We had seats in the second circle and space was at a premium!!! Seats close together so if you need extra space suggest booking one of the boxes or maybe the stalls?? Enjoy the show!!!
