Its a very "Grand" old theatre. I understand that, and that is the appeal for most theatre goers, BUT they must improve the toilet facilities! I was booked into the "Royal Circle" Around 200 seats, and TWO ladies toilets. People were queuing up the stairs (in peoples way) and nearly into the bar. The toilets did not flush! (took longer as ladies were waiting for the cistern to refill so they could flush, which was never gonna happen)! Most of the break was taken up with queuing for the toilets! The other thing was that they didnt open the bar for at least five minutes when we were all stood on the stairs waiting for our pre-ordered drinks. We were told "There is another bar downstairs, BUT we had all ordered drinks at the Royal Circle Bar. Very unorganised that particular day. Having said that, the lady I ordered from behind the bar when I first arrived was AMAZING. Chatted to me, told me about the show, (I was on my own so she made me feel welcome). Staff great, theatre beautiful. They need to improve it though. Work needs doing. Balcony not available as needs work it said. Not that one would like to stand outside in Winter, Theatre needs work, but the production itself was AMAZING.

I visited on 29th December, could only get the cheap seats, just don’t bother, so high up , no ventilation it was appalling during Covid, it was so hot in there, if I didn’t get Covid from that night then I’m very lucky and so is everyone else, no social distancing, appalling toilet facilities, I won’t be going back.

Just had an amazing experience at the Theatre Royal, we went to see The Snow Queen, a ballet first for my daughter and I, the show was incredible, however, the service by the staff at the event was also impeccable. When we arrived we were very quickly COVID pass and bag checked, all with a smile.
We then decided to purchase a program for my daughter, there were signs all around that stated it was credit card only, upon buying the program it transpired it was cash only, I was a pound short and one of the security, usher guards handed over a pound to my delighted daughter. Yes it was a pound but this random act of kindness from a stranger was amazing and has left an incredible sense of happiness for my daughter and I, she learnt a huge lesson today that small gestures can make such a huge difference. Be kind!
The man in question was situated outside
of the stalls, I want to send my huge thanks to him and all of the staff that made my daughter and my day!

it is a lovely Theatre with oodles of character
the staff are the best in the industry
the Olivier Lounge and the Ambassador Lounge are well worth the extra ticket price as the service is outstanding

Booked to see Peter James play originally for beginning of the year cancelled due to Covid and rescheduled for October as the date drew nearer I was inundated with instructions for Covid passes or proof of vaccinations and given a time to arrive at the theatre.So I loaded test results onto my phone and checked that my husband and I had photo ID as directed We then turned up at our allotted time.Why did I bother I only showed my test result on my phone I was not asked for photo proof to validate my identity and my husband and I were separated in the throng of people trying to get in that he wasn’t asked for anything as for social distancing that was non existent.We were shown to our seats by staff not wearing masks and surrounded by members of public also not complying to wearing face masks I expected there to be spaces between groups of people but we had no empty seats next to us although there were spare seats in various rows.Very disappointed with whole experience and felt very uncomfortable

What a fantastic theatre with such lovely staff! Seats comfortable and baying that little extra to go VIP is totally worth it. One of the best theatre experiences I have ever had.

I have not recieved my tickets from ticket master therefore i have tried to contact Theatre Royal Brighton to see if they would let me in if i shoed them evidence of payment etc, the contact advertised on their web site number takes you to ATG tickets, how is this of any help, why does the theatre no have a contact telephone number.
Theatres say they have had it hard during covid and want support from the general public now that they are open, how about this being a 2 way thing, how about having someone to help the general PAYING public regarding tickets sold for events at YOUR theatre, next they will be saying the theatre doesn't have a telephone.

Great play in great venue. The Dresser, Julian Clary and Mathew Kelly. How did they learn such words to fill such length of speech? Wonderful adaption and wonderful two sets too! Less is more.

Lovely theatre, and wonderful staff. The show (hairspray) was incredible.

Drinks were very expensive but that’s normal for theatres… however the gallery was so warm I thought I might pass out.

I have been trying to speak to someone regarding a booking, been holding on for 2 hours, I tried emailing the website says they will respond in 15 days, which is too late, as the show is this week.

Such poor customer service, not everyone has access to a computer! I thought I was supporting the theatre by not requesting refund and waiting for the show to be re scheduled.

Looks like I'm going to have to make a 35 mile round trip, to speak to someone at the theatre to resolve my problem. I feel so frustrated and very disappointed.
