Very friendly staff who greeted us at the door. The carvery is fresh and Shani was very made sure we were happy with everything.

On visiting this restaurant at 7pm for an evening meal with my wife there was only one choice of meat available beef. Very few vegetables or dried up baked beans on offer. The restaurant was clean and the male staff were present. The older waitress was very grumpy and said we had to hurry our deserts as the ice cream machine had ti be switched off at 8pm as that was the time the restaurant closed on a Tuesday.
We won’t be returning as not made to feel welcome and very rushed.

We visited the saltdean tavern yesterday for the first time since restrictions eased. Really impressed by how quick and easy it was to order. Our food and drinks arrived quickly. The food was lovely and the staff friendly. We will 100% be returning.

The carvery has a really good selection of meat. You can help yourself to as many vegetables as you want and there are loads of choices. Great service from all the staff.

Me and my family have just had a wonderful meal at the Saltdean Tavern. There was a great choice of food and it was all at reasonable prices.

Food was actually really poor. I have ordered gammon steak with egs and chips. I literally got „steak” with the thickness of 2mm eggs and chips. no tomato , peas or anything like that. my husband took pizza which arrived preety cold. we were waiting around 35 minutes with preety empty restaurant so they wereny busy at all. not worth your hassle and money. Table was dirty.

Just had a post-lockdown pub lunch here with my kids for the first time. Being a Saturday, I had expected queues and a certain amount of chaos, and for it to be too hot inside the pub. I couldn't have been more wrong. Everything was organised to perfection, the place was well-ventilated, the staff were brilliant, especially our carvery chef. Now you will have to wait a while to get called up for you family's go at the carvery, but this is so much more relaxing than having to queue and crowd for it in the olden days.
We couldn't fault the food. Everything well-cooked and hot. Slight drinks problem that they don't seem to be able to get cask ale at the moment, but that will be a temporary supply issue, I'm sure. The Heineken did not offend.
Three plates of roast, a pint, a Pepsi and a J2O for 26GBP! We shall be back for their half-price days in August.

I booked a table for my daughters leaving do. We were a party of 18 people, children and adults, which we had prebooked. The food all came out at different times. We had to go up so many times to find out what had happened to our orders. Even the pizzas took over 1.5 hours to be made. Its wasn't a particularly busy day, but it was the worst experience I've ever had! The attude from the person in charge was awful, and didn't even offer an apology. It was such a disappointment. I have been to the carvery in peacehaven and the customer service and food there was amazing. We have not returned to the saltdean tavern since.

Good quality carvery with a wide choice of meat, trimmings, vegetables, sauces and sides including nut roast for veggies. Shani took great care of us, vey friendly and efficient
