What a great experience. I booked this last minute for my wife's Birthday. We booked Dinner, Bed & Breakfast, it was an absolute bargain.
The dinner was fantastic, I had a risotto and my wife had the liver and bacon, both big portions, hearty and tasty. We were looked after by Natasha who was very caring, polite and professional, even offered to bring our drinks up to our room for us to save us carrying them.
The breakfast was also very good and given my wife had a spa treatment booked the reception allowed us a complimentary late check out.
All the staff were great, well versed in Covid protocol and we felt safe.

Pros - good location for sightseeing restaurants and bars, friendly staff, good cocktails, good outdoor terrace and comfy beds
Cons - no hot water in room for two days, mediocre breakfast and coffee, tired rooms in need of updating and no robes in room for spa

An amazing 4 night Staycation spent at The Winchester Hotel and Spa!
Coming here to get away from London, needing a break, and honestly it didn’t disappoint!
Although the hotel is a 4* - the stay was nothing short of 5* for us!
A great Club Plus room, the restaurant with a lovely menu, the Spa, simply divine!
Thank you to all the team at the hotel; Kim, Vali, Beth, Zoe, and to everyone else that we met there! All such lovely and friendly staff!
I can’t recommend highly enough!
Can’t wait to come back!

We had a good stay at the hotel in August. They had excellent Covid precautions although were not enforcing wearing of masks in common areas which is now a legal requirement.
All of the staff were very friendly and efficient.
The hotel is well placed to explore the city centre.
Breakfast was good in the morning and very quick service.
The only downside is that the rooms are not soundproofed. We could hear the people in the room above us walking around. Our room also seemed to be an interconnecting one and we could hear the tv from the adjoining room quite loudly.
All of the staff were very friendly and efficient.
The hotel is well placed to explore the city centre.

We booked this hotel as a treat to go away for my dads 70th birthday, myself, my two young children and my parents. We chose this hotel over another due to the swimming pool and thought it would be great for the kids.
The hotel is lovely, very well maintained and modern, we were very impressed with both our rooms. However on going down to the pool we were told that under 13s are not allowed in. Not just at certain times of the day but at all. As the pool was due to be the highlight of my 3 year olds trip, this was extremely disappointing. I understand that as a hotel with a spa facility that a lot of people would like to peace and quiet of no children, however I think if this is the case they should really advertise this more clearly.
The next part which makes this hotel feel like they should advertise it as an adult only hotel is the fact they don’t let children in the main restaurant after 6pm, the wording on their website states ...”for the comfort of our guests, please be advised that children aged 10 years and under may not dine in The Brasserie after 6.00pm”....
For the comfort of other guests???? What so basically they are saying children ruin the experience for other guests. So you have to eat in the bar area which is fine if it doesn’t get too busy and you run out of tables.
I think the hotels attitude towards children really lets it down. It should perhaps think to advertise itself as an adult only hotel.

Booked Spa Day as a surprise for my wife. I have to say that the treatments we had were really good and the therapists friendly and attentive. We both had massages and facials and my wife a pedicure. However, the pool area was very poorly maintained. The sauna was out of order, which we were not told about. The Spa area was terribly tired, with faded paint and really uncomfortable beds The staff were great but there were simply not enough of them.
Our final surprise was the £12 parking fee for exceeding 5 hours stay, when the charge jumps to 24 hours.
On the basis of the treatments alone we scored this three otherwise it would be one or two at best in our view.
This is certainly not a four star hotel Spa Experience.

I booked this hotel as it’s close to ATR Winchester where I am attending my cousins passing out parade tomorrow.
I wanted a nice hotel for me and my 4yo son to stay in the night before.
Checked the website child policy All children welcome. Checked the facilities.
They have an indoor pool. Perfect we can have a swim and relax while we are there spend some time together have a meal and be fresh for the next day.
On the way to the hotel I called to check the swimming times for children as we stay in many hotels as a family due to me travelling for work and know there a restricted times in some hotels.
Sorry but we do not allow children under 13 in the pool ???
Really never or just today, never !
Ok too late to cancel that’s that idea gone. Checked in the room which was dated and a 3 star at most, tacky tiled bathroom and horrible springy mattress.
Went down to the restaurant for dinner and asked the waiter do you have a children’s menu here please.

What !! my 4 year old cannot eat in your restaurant but he can sit in your bar where people are mainly sitting drinking alcohol and watching football..
Never in my life have I been to a hotel where children are not allowed to use the pool ever ! Or eat in the restaurant!!
Moral of the review if your planning to stay with children don’t bother. We got a takeaway pizza and sat in the room watching TV

Very basic room, extra charge if you wanted a dressing gown and slippers to walk to the facilities from your room even though it’s a spa??? And clearly my £170 for one night isn’t enough to cover those!? The pool area is very tired and needs sorting out. There wasn’t anything special about the hotel and definitely not worth the price of the room!

This hotel has so much to offer ,the staff were friendly efficient and helpful
Our dinner was excellent and very well presented. The breakfast was delicious , not only a buffet but extra items were offered by the staff.
My wife found the spa wonderfully relaxing as well as very professional.
Parking was easy and the bed room of a very high standard ,The a/c was vertualy silent
The hotel was close by to the historic part of Winchester only a short walk away
Our dinner was excellent and very well presented. The breakfast was delicious , not only a buffet but extra items were offered by the staff.
