My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at this lovely place. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the food, we had Sunday roast, were delicious. We will definitely return.

This country pub is a little out of the way, but we were staying in a cottage just up the lane. The hours are irregular, but it is a place to visit. The food is outstanding, large portions (unable to finish my meal, most unusual), small prices, and a huge selection available. The two young waitresses were very friendly and helpful.

My 3rd visit and meal at The Castle. Again it was fantastic Herefordshire beef Sunday lunch and a pint of Ludlow bitter. Both excellent thank you.

Bar and bar tables in a barn building, whitewashed walls, simple tables and significantl rocket like log burner give the castle a unique ambience. Steaks were excellent with ample portions. Vegetables steamed and crunchy. Pint of wye valley ale. Very enjoyable

We live in the village but for outsiders its not hard to find. Just 6 miles from Ross and Hereford, come off the A49 at Kings Thorn and follow the brown Castle Inn signs. Service is leisurely but its worth the wait. the food is very good and the portions are huge. The staff are convivial and the atmosphere all that you would expect from a village pub. Highly recommended

Fortunate that this is our local. Have eaten there several times and food fab each time. The Sunday roast is a particular highlight. Small menu but everything is homemade with great ingredients.

We live 40 minutes walk from this great little pub-restaurant and it’s always worth every minute of the walk ... the current owners are really welcoming, friendly, accommodating and have made this into a superb place to relax and chat quietly or meet/dine with friends/family - lovely rustic decor, flagstone floor, cosy wood burner when cold, relaxing garden in sunshine, excellent fresh draft ales, a nice selection of wines and our dogs & walking boots are welcome too! But the best bit is the food ... superb every single time; a very good frequently-changing menu, most meals have an unusual/unexpected (but wonderful) twist and head chef, Paul, clearly really knows what he’s doing because, no matter how many people in our group, there’s has only ever been praise, never a complaint (and we’ve had quite a few meals there now!) The Sunday lunches are really superb - best to book in advance as they're understandably popular! Keep up the great work and long may it continue.

This is an opportunity missed - even the locals seem to be missing out. The food cooked by Paul is extremely good but the pies are the best I've ever had the privilege to have - why people are not flocking there we cannot understand. There is also good beer available which adds greatly to the visit. Try it and we doubt you'll be disappointed.

We visited this out of the way gem last week although only 10mins outside Hereford ,not easy to find worth persevering though.
My wife had the Ciopino a delicious seafood dish full of fish in a garlic tomato sauce topped off with plump mussels and a baby lobster for £14 its very good value I had the Porkie yorkie which was awesome and a change from the usual pubs desire to copy tv chefs.
Will Defo be back.
