This morning, we joined Shane and, I think, ten others for his excellent Saturday morning* tour of Roman St Albans. Billed as 90 minutes it was closer to two hours and packed with historical fact and information presented in an entertaining way. We were a group of all ages but the pace felt right for everyone. For this tour there is an additional charge on the gate for entrance to the Roman Theatre (not a big cost and nobody objected within our group).
This is our second guided walking tour of St Albans this year and, based on the first two, I think we'll be working our way through the others on the list!

We had a 1 ½ hour tour of historical St Albans with Sheldon Ringrose, an accredited guide and wonderful person. She was terrifically knowledgeable, very entertaining and personable, able to answer all our questions, and full of insights into the history of this amazing little city, from Roman times to the 20th century. It was a wonderful tour that made the city's history come alive. I can highly recommend a tour with City and District St Albans Tour Guides!

We are St Albans locals but have been on 3 of these guided walks. The guides are very knowledgeable and the walks are really informative and we have learned lots of interesting facts and history. It’s also nice just to take time to stop and look up and around at details that we usually just walk past in a hurry.

Booking & confirmation was easy. Ticket price was very reasonable. The Tour started on time. Our Green Badge Guide was Mario for the "Ghosts and Ghouls" walking tour. Very knowledgeable, interesting and humorous. I've lived locally for over 20 years and learnt a lot of local history and stories and for the 1st time I stopped to look up ast the shop fronts at the buildings in St.Albans I'd passed frequently and was surprised they were so beautiful. I was delighted that so many key historical figures had stood in St.Albans where I stood today. I'm being careful not to share the stories here, because you really need to take the tour and hear them first hand!

We chose to book the "Historic St Albans: A City Revealed at 11.15 am on Sunday. The 90-minute tour was excellent: packed with information and very entertaining. Led by James we can recommend this walking tour. We now plan to do other St Albans tours too!

My husband and I went on the Historic St Albans tour. With Diana as our guide we got to know so much about the city and she made it interesting for the both of us. We also appreciated the small details she pointed out throughout the city that we normally wouldn't notice.

On a very wet and grey day ( Sunday December 3rd ) my two sisters and I had a walking tour of the city of St Albans with Lynn our tour guide. She was friendly, knowledgeable and cheerful despite the almost constant rain and made efforts to keep us under cover wherever possible.
The tour was 1.5 hours and covered the history of St Albans from the Roman period to present day including the link to the Ryder cup! We learnt about St Alban, why the monastery was built and also about the history of local people, architecture including the beautiful cathedral.
We all learnt a lot, having never been to St Albans before and we certainly now want to visit again when the weather is better! Lynn was an excellent guide and kept us interested and engaged throughout despite the weather!
This tour was great value for money and as a Green Badge Tour guide from Bury St Edmunds I would certainly recommend this to other visitors.

Really enjoyed this excellent tour of historic St Albans. Our guide, Tony, was superb. Really informed, easy to listen to and audible; he was passionate about the city. Hope I can remember it all to pass on. Certainly the best value £6 I have spent in a long while. Thank you.
