I visited with my family and had amazing service by Angel who provided a lot of insight into this historical location! The sevice was very friendly and well worth the visit!

I visited recently, lovely old building, had a tour with a very delightful girl called Angel, she was very informative with the history of the old pilgrims hospital
Very enjoyable and definitely recommend a visit to both the east Bridge hospital and franciscan garden.

Fascinating experience, from the lower floor where pilgrims once slept to the upper floor chapel! It has been kept in remarkable condition and the mural on the middle floor is a MUST-SEE for history buffs!

We arrived close to closing time so sadly rushed our visit but what an amazing place
The restoration of this ancient building is wonderful
Historically a true haven for weary travellers offered by The Franciscan order
Now an almshouse offering accommodation to the elderly and needy
Can’t recommend too highly …

Enjoyed the History of EastBridge Hospital, Had seen it on a couple of history shows and visited while in canterbury. very informative, would have liked a tour with a local tourguide but was a flying visit

We were offered a guided tour by a lovely woman named Margaret. She was very knowledgeable and made the story of the hospital very captivating. A real hidden gem, would highly recommend!

A little gem in the middle of Canterbury, a must visit. The guided tour by Gavin was fascinating and brought the building's historical role to life as a place of hospitality for pilgrims in medieval times and the building's later use.

Very good tour! We learnt lots of interesting things about the local history, especially about the pilgrimages made to Canterbury after the death - and consequently the reported miracles of - St Thomas the Martyr. The tour guide, Gavin, was brilliant and was very knowledgeable about the hospital’s history and of the surrounding areas. 5/5 would recommend a visit!

I have visited Canterbury many times and walked past this building without thinking about it.
I won't spoil it for you, but this little building has an ancient history and an active present and is worth the half hour it takes for a little trip round its interior.
You get a guided tour; our guide, Gavin was pleasant relaxing company and someone who cared about this building's past, present and future. We enjoyed our trip with him.
I recommend combining a visit here with a walk around the adjacent Franciscan gardens - another peaceful, hidden gem.

Hidden gem in Canterbury.. joint ticket for hospital and garden.our guide Gavin was extremely interesting and brought the building's rich history to life with humour and tales.loved the garden with its collection of herbs and fruit and the river was full of trout and 2 eels!
