I stumbled across this little shop of magic a couple of years ago and have been buying things ever since. Richard and Jan always do the upmost to make sure you are happy with your purchases and the strong sense of family is carried throughout the building. Canterbury Pottery is ideal for personal, heart-felt, beautiful presents for everyone; much better then the mass-produced items that are taking over the high street. If you are ever in canterbury i would highly recommend popping in as they have products for everyone at suitable prices!

I wasn't originally going to leave a review after my purchase but given that Canterbury Pottery have been picky enough to deduct a mere £1.75 from my refund for no apparent reason I have decided to.
I ordered a bespoke fruit bowl from them online, & was invited to choose my own coloured glaze, I chose orange & yellow at my wife's request. I was initially taken aback by what I thought was quite an expensive £12 for delivery, but given that I was buying this as a gift to my wife I decided to proceed, the bowl arrived sooner than I had expected, which we were both very pleased about, however on examining the bowl there were several obvious faults in the glaze (dark marks all over the the inside plain orange glaze & similar although not as obvious on the outside dual coloured glaze). I contacted Canterbury Pottery by email about my concerns only to be told that maybe it was because of my choice of colours that the faults were there, surely if they had concerns they should have mentioned them before proceeding to accept my order.
They did however agree that I could return the item for a refund. They had not attached a returns label and I had to contact them again to say I would only return the item if they paid for the return and that I was going to get a full refund including all postage charges. Having received a returns label by email I assumed that they were happy with that. I have now returned the item only to find that for some unexplained reason the sum of £1.75 has been deducted from the refund with no explanation or reason given.
My wife was previously a very happy customer of this company and we were planning on visiting the shop when we were next in the area, this will not now be happening and they have lost 2 customers, I hope they enjoy spending there very small income from this transaction.

We were over the moon to see that Canterbury Pottery are still running their website as usual and we were able to buy a beautiful handmade bread bin from them. It arrived today and is a perfect birthday present for my partner. We absolutely love it and such a friendly and helpful service. Would highly recommend.

Canterbury Pottery is very conveniently located just outside the entrance to the Canterbury Cathedral - so it is worth popping in during your visit to the cathedral. The place has a great collection of pottery items including cups and mugs, vases, trays, wine glasses etc etc.
If you are a fan of collectible items - this is strongly recommended.

Alle zwei Jahre sind wir bei Freunden zu Besuch und immer gehört ein Tag in Canterbury dazu. Besonders gefällt und die Pottery denn dort bekommen wir wunderschöne handgemachte Keramik. Bei jedem Besuch sind wir von der Auswahl begeistert und auch vom freundlichen Besitzer. See You in 2021 😁

I love finding unique work that is local to the place I am visiting. I was so pleased to find this pottery shop, run by the potters for about 55 years (as of 2019). There were many unique items, lovely glazes, and excellent service. It was great to purchase lovely items that I can use daily and know they were made right there in the shop in Canterbury.

Tiny little gem of a store so close to the cathedral. The owners are born and raised in Canterbury and are so polite and friendly. We found a very unique olive bowl. This place is worth a visit!

Nestled close to the Canterbury Cathedral, this family-owned business is a hidden gem. The owners are sweet, helpful, and genuine. The pottery offered in this shop is well-crafted, and reasonably priced. Be sure to carefully tread upstairs to see the works on the second floor. The space itself is quaint, and interesting. So glad to have stumbled on this place- walked out with several wonderful pieces to commemorate my visit to Canterbury.

I have been buying pieces here since I was at teacher training college forty three years ago!!
Always a pleasure to visit the pottery-rather like visiting an old friend.
Welcoming and accomodating owners,super pottery and reasonable prices.
Not to be missed!
