Iain provided a fantastic day for the group of us. Stickle Ghyll is breath taking and Iain was the perfect guide for us, keeping us motivated, encouraged and safe throughout. Communication before and during the experience was great. Fabulous day had by all.

We had a fantastic experience ghyll scrambling with Iain at Stoneycroft Gill. His communication was great. Exact instructions where to meet and what to bring. The walking boots he provides were really needed. It would have been tough in old trainers. The Gill is stunning. We are a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 children, age 13,11. Perfect being just us and Iain and not being in a large group. Just the right level of challenge, lots of enthusiasm and put us right at ease. He took loads of photos too which was included in the price. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic afternoon Ghyll Scrambling with Iain at Stickle Ghyll. It was not our original location due to rainy weather but Iain warned us well in advance and it was still a brilliant experience.
Iain was extremely knowledgeable and was very clear directing us. We all had great fun and would recommend this to our friends and anyone who has never done Ghyll Scrambling before. My favourite moment was climbing a waterfall with ropes. It was challenging but Iain was very encouraging and I never felt unsafe. We were all grateful that Iain took photos throughout and the equipment provided to us was very good quality. We were given walking boots, and the wet suits and waterproofs kept us very warm.
It has been the highlight of our holiday and one we will always remember! ⛰️🥾💦

*Fantastic experience* We visited the Lakes in August in bad weather conditions for summer months.
Iain rescheduled our original session to keep us safe from poor weather conditions and to enhance our experience. Immediately I felt certain we had picked the right guide as it was clear our safety and enjoyment was paramount.
When we came back the next day, Iain was fantastic. We are family of 5 and our children of 9, 13 and 16 are mixed ability. Iain accommodated this with ease navigating us through a challenging and fun route that suited us all. We felt safe the entire time and able to challenge ourselves under Iain’s guidance.
This experience was a real highlight. This was our first time to the Lakes. We would love to return and if we do Iain would be our first point of contact for any guided experiences.

Had an amazing time on our ghyll scrambling session at Stickle Ghyll with Iain even though the weather was not the best. The course was a lot of fun with many waterfalls to climb and deep pools to go into. Iain is very knowledgeable and in great shape so our group of thirty year old first time gorge scramblers was kept very safe at all times. All the equipment are provided and photos are taken by Iain along the way which look great.
Was a pleasure to venture through the course with Iain and would highly recommend if you visit the Lake District!!

Four of us went abseiling with Iain at Hodge Close Quarry. We were blessed with glorious sunshine and the quarry was challenging but also a good starting point for some of us beginners. Iain was very communicative, accommodating and reassuring. I fully recommend using Lakes Outdoor Experience!

An excellent afternoon spent Ghyll Scrambling with Iain. Very knowledgeable, well equipped and very relaxed. We had a mixed ability family group and Iain managed to get even the smallest ones jumping in pools and climbing waterfalls.
Great fun for everyone and I would heartily recommend.

Another fabulous adventure with Iain today, who was again truly brilliant with the children (big and small) for the second year running.
We would not use anybody else for our Lakeland adventures.
Iain arrives with so much equipment and gear and just fills you with confidence from the first moment.
Thank you Iain for a wonderful afternoon and you will definitely be seeing us again next year.

I had booked a ghyll scrambling session at Stickle Ghyll with Iain for an afternoon with my three grandsons (aged 17, 15, and 10). Iain provided clear instructions about the session and meeting arrangements. He quickly got to know the children and prepared us for the adventure. Throughout the session, he tailored the activities to suit the abilities of each of the kids. We all had a fantastic time, and the children are already eager for another adventure led by Iain. I would definitely recommend this experience and look forward to going again.

Me and my boyfriend booked a ghyll scrambling session with Iain for an afternoon. I had done something vaguely similar on NCS whilst my boyfriend had done nothing before. We had a lovely time! Iain was a great instructor. He put us at ease immediately and we had a great time at Stickle Ghyll and had good crack along the way. He explained things simply and showed us exactly what we had to do and he made sure we had the best experience. 10/10 would recommend and would go again for sure!
