Our guides, Sandra and Julian were wonderful and fun to spend the day with. Very knowledgeable, impeccable driving and they shared many interesting details. Would highly recommend.

1. The other customers were told to put their seat belts on LATER in the journey. I'm pregnant and they could have fallen on top of me if they happened to not be wearing seat belts. Maybe this can be forgiven as they put their seat belts on at my pick up point but still.
2. The high way code says you don't do sharp breaking for animals as it could hurt the passengers and a car could smash into the back of us. I love animals and hate roadkill but the safety of passengers and my unborn kid should have been more important and the law says its illegal. To protect the squirrels life there is a very easy solution.... DRIVE SLOWLY. I told the company I was pregnant when I complained they basically said I should have disclosed this. Its not a rock climbing activity where the onus is on me. Many pregnant women don't tell taxi drivers their medical history or wear a sign on their head saying their condition because we trust that they follow the high way code. Anyway they haven't answered my last two messages so I will go higher up in the next few hours.

Thank you for your comments, it gives us the opportunity to address them openly and provide a more balanced account. It is important to note at this point that all of our vehicles have dashcams fitted both front and rear. These provide both a visual and audio record of everything, whether the vehicle is moving or stationary. The speed of the vehicle is also recorded.
1. Everyone on the bus had their seatbelts on at the appropriate times. We know this because our professionally qualified drivers check each guest at every stop before driving off. This can be backed up by the dashcam recordings. We checked and everything confirmed this was the case for your tour.
2. For this point it seems that you are trying to say that the vehicle was moving too fast when the driver stopped to avoid killing a red squirrel which is an animal on the endangered list in Britain. Again, we checked the dashcam footage and found that the driver was travelling at less than 15 miles an hour and braked to avoid killing the animal. The reaction of all of the passengers was relief and delight at seeing such a rare creature. At no point did anyone show any sign of distress or make any comment about the speed of the vehicle, including yourself.
3. When you left the vehicle, you said you were happy, thanking the driver and commenting that you enjoyed the tour. We even have you waving goodbye and smiling. At no point throughout the tour did you say or give any indication of the comments you state in the review. It was only afterwards that you contacted us via a string of abusive, threatening and incoherent messages which we stopped answering to avoid more abuse to our staff.
Despite this, we would like to send our congratulations on your pregnancy and we hope that you have a happy and joyous experience throughout.

I did this tour with my daughter and three other lovely tourists and had a wonderful experience. Our guide (I am so sorry to have forgotten the name) made it extra special with a wealth of information he shared with us. Thoroughly enjoyed the stories along with spectacular views. I will definitely come back again soon. Will definitely recommend it to friends as well!

We went on Friday 20th October. So sorry I have forgotten the driver’s name but was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and took us on a beautiful tour which wasn’t affected by the weather except having to change course once due to a fallen tree across the road. A few stops for photos and we felt very safe with his knowledge of the area and careful driving. Would certainly recommend this tour.

Had the best day with Tim on this tour. His company was fantastic only beaten by his knowledge of the area. Excellent way to see a large area of the lakes whilst learning the history and being expertly driven up some questionable roads to some amazing view points. Highly recommended

We took the English Lake Tour on 11, October 2023. Our guides were excellent, the driver Sandra, and the narrator Julian [hope my spelling is correct] (an archivist, historian, and academic). This was a day filled with 10 lakes, many sites, informative history, and great insights. The tour included a lake cruise on Windermere! Our guides were personable, accommodating, and had insightful discussions regarding plant life, history of National Trust lands, sheep farming, and many other topic. There was another couple on this tour, so 4 in total, feeling like a private tour. Excellent value!

Great day in the Lakes seeing places away from the usual routes. Our guide and driver were very knowledgeable and friendly. Very glad we booked as some of the roads were very narrow.

Most excellent tour with the two friendliest and most knowledgeable tour guides. More than just knowledgeable they were experts, academic level insights into the Lake District and the Brontë family, but never stuffy or boring. Can’t recommend highly enough. A fine mix of local lore, literary background, and topography.

I like in the USA and have been trying to contact the English Lake District Tour Company about an upcoming trip and I cannot get the email to go through at the address on their website. Does anyone know a better email address? Frances Dudley
