Appalling... I have visited the flying handbag twice this year once in late march and once in late November on both occasions I have had a negative experience which I consider to be no fault of my own. The first occasion I visited with a younger friend, a middle aged woman approached him and told him, " don't go with him, come with me, he is going to murder you ! "Such a ridiculous and provocative comment from a complete stranger.. the woman was obviously nothing but a trouble maker and bad fag hag unable to establish meaningful relationships so she was bent in causing as much drama as possible... I objected by saying, " go away mind your own business my friends and my business is nothing do with you" , at this point I nodded in mutual agreement to my friend to leave, as We are leaving she was tugging at my clothes and trying to drag me back shouting "I'm gone to smack your face in ". Now you could say it's not the fault of the bar, however the door staff are at the entrance area behind double doors so are completely oblivious to whats going on inside, they offer no help in a situation as this.
On the second occasion 27th November I visited in the evening with a friend, the place was barely a quarter full, they had a host and karaoke on. I had a pint and my friend had a coke ( he doesn't drink) I had just gone to get a second pint and along came we had been there around 30 minutes. Sitting there listening to the karaoke a woman came over dressed in black T' shirt and jeans she had keys attached to her belt loop. She said to my friend can you leave the premises as you look to young to be in here, as he is 27 this sounded ridiculous albeit he is of slight build and boyish looking... I overheard and said do you have anything illustrating your age he promptly showed her a document on his phone. ( I think a copy of his driving licence) She scoffed then mutter's, " I think you should leave anyway" and then storms off. That's what we did and in my case never to return... How can a place that supposedly supports inclusion and diversity treat any customer with such contempt ? This bar is just not deserving of people's hard earned cash.

Would highly recommend The Flying Handbag; the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Howard was great and extremely helpful as it was our first time in Blackpool. Will definitely be back in the New Year to see some more great entertainment.

What a amazingly place this is
I looked online for food recommendation this came up we had pizza and burgers they were tasty and well worth the money . We started here music was really good the drag queen was so funny and kept the crowd going into the night . We stayed until closing time it wasn't our plan but it was the best night we had in years .

yes sunday fantastic bar staff today monday crap waited to be served copletely ignored waiting for drinks blonde girl to busy playing her hair talking other side of bar simon has to come serve us even he was of duty kerry talking to people same as last week ignored again .we have just started to fetch guests back into here now thinking why

well once again a big thank you miss amber and paul trumper morgan what a fantaatic show on a sunday afternoon if no body seen there show you dont no what you missing so any one in blackpool pop in and see there show you wont be disappointed. thanks to matt and all.the team they work hard cant wait untillmthere next show thank you aĺl ince again xxx

Yesterday reinforced why the flying handbag is still the number 1 LGBT venue in Blackpool.
We visited to experience the birth of the Miss Amber show "Lady and the camp".
It was absolutely fantastic from start to finish.
Amazing atmosphere throughout.
Definitely visiting the handbag again

One of my favourite bars in Blackpool wide range of entertainment Friday and Saturday after 8.00 pm £2: entry staff are friendly cheap drinks till 8.00 pm then price goes up.

Myself and husband popped into the Flying Handbag to check the place out and so pleased we did, the place is so beautifully done out and the staff are so friendly and welcoming! Fabulous atmosphere! we loved it that much that we returned the next day for karaoke night, which I highly recommend! The place also does lovely food which is an added bonus, highly recommended!

Visited today for xanadus special occasion, I don’t know how anyone can afford to drink here, £2-75, for a diet coke, that’s £1-50 everywhere else. The place got took over by a group of women in orange t shirts , it’s actually now just another MA KELLYS, however this one has expensive drinks.

Glandular fever rarely kills today, most of us have had some sort of immunization while at school. People self diagnose everyday sore throat and swollen glands don't equal glandular fever.
