My family and I visited in January on a Saturday afternoon. It was very busy and the queues to get on some slides were around 25 minutes at times.
Getting in was quick and easy but I would recommend getting one locker per person, as they are small! You get your locker money back at the end anyway.
The waterpark is big and there's lots of seating areas dotted around the site. There's also an indoor cafe. We didn't use it, but I saw people getting hot food and drinks.
There's two big pools with a lazy river and there's an area for small children. My daughter's not so small now, so that didn't concern me, but it looked like there wasn't much for the little ones.
There's around 6-7 slides in the whole park, so not much really, and they're not bad, but could be better. Some of them are in complete darkness, where as in other indoor waterparks I've been to they've had lights inside them and music etc.
Some slides do have photo opportunities though, which was very cool and the technology they use to retrieve your photos at the end is very clever!
It's worth a visit if you like waterparks but like the title says, there is better out there if you do your research.

We visited in January, two adults and a four year old who absolutely loved the water slides.
Overall we had an excellent experience and definitely recommend the Sandcastle, we will probably go again.
The whole place just seemed really well run. Everywhere was clean, staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful, everywhere was warm even in winter.
The Thunderfalls slides were great for our daughter, she loved them. She was too small the the larger slides, but still plenty to keep her busy.
The lifeguards in particular were doing a great job. They were excellent and obviously well trained, they seemed to be paying attention when needed and have a harder job than people think. Well done!
Overall we had an excellent experience and definitely recommend the Sandcastle, we will probably go again.

Great time was had by all the family especially my 5 year old son who didn’t want to leave. It was shame he was just under the 1.1 meter limit for most the slides but what slides he could go on he loved. He also loved the wave pool which was great.
The only thing I could fault was not having any cameras on the family slides as it would have been nice to have gotten some photos of him on the slides but it didn’t spoil our morning there. We will definitely be back again at some point.
Highly recommended if you’re in or near the Blackpool area and you want to keep the kids entertained or tire them out.

Ok, but not the biggest waterpark I have ever been to - and being all inside makes it all feel closed in. Price reasonable though compared to the waterpark where I live.

Excellent throughout. With a disabled adult, and an autistic toddler, the inclusivity cannot be faulted. Poolside wet room changing and locker, waterproof ear muffs provided for noise cancelling, all areas easily accessible, and above all the staff are amazingly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. So good, in fact, that we “splashed out” (pun intended) on annual passes for the three of us.

I visited on a Saturday on a very wet November weekend with my daughters and 2 friends. (12,11,10,10)
We did the 1pm to 4pm slow
I was a bit worried about how busy it might be based on previous views but it was fine. Busy, but no too busy. Ride wait time we’re between 5-20 mins and the girls went on each ride multiple times
Overall I was really impressed with the water park. The website was simple enough to book, and checking in was straight forward. The place was clean, the water warm and the staff were brilliant.
I think the idea of pre-booking the locker fobs and payment fob is great. I loaded £50 on to our so I knew I’d have enough and then the remaining got transferred back at the end.
So would definitely recommend going, as long as the kids are over 1.2m tall. I can imagine in school holidays or a nice weekend it could be carnage in there but if you plan well, you’ll have a great day out.

We went, one Saturday morning and found it to be extremely busy to the point of overcrowded, it was easy to loose sight of someone, particularly a child, because the place was absolutely packed., to the point it almost felt unsafe,.
It felt like the focus was on packing in as many people as possible, without any consideration to impact this has on guest experience.
So busy, were the pools, you were frequently, inadvertently, bumping into others, getting kicked and scratched, by accident from others.
The park costs £25, for a three hour session, which in the context of paying for a family soons racks up, even with concessions for children, but so long has a great time that's what matters, but the overcrowded conditions, significantly impacted on the enjoyment of the visit.
There's several fantastic slides amd flumes, if only we'd had a chance to go on them all, but with sessions being 3 hours long and the queues stretching to 30-45 minutes amd more, wait time, just to go down one slide/chute you haven't a snowball in hells chance, on getting to ride them all, or even the ones you want to go on.
The situation was further impacted by the fact, that we witnessed a child being told to a "swim test" before going on a slide, while other guests continued rto wait, in line, and on some rides.you had to queue to get an inflatable tube and then queue again to get on the slide.
Some of the staff were rude and unpleasant towards guests, additional we witness someone have and accident, falling over heavily and this was not picked.up by staff on duty, probably having not witnessed this due to how busy it was.
The water was also really cloudy, probably as a result.of the sheer amount of people in the pool.
Sandcastle could and should be an amazing experience, but the quality of the experience was significantly eroded by overcrowding, long queues and a general feeling of it not being a "safe as it possibly could be" due to the overcrowding situation.

Yet another family trip to sandcastles blackpool, had a great time booked an early slot to avoid queues as when we came out at 2pm it was busying up.

This is a great facility, spoiled massively by too many people being allowed in, causing huge queues for everything and constantly losing sight of your kids. I spent almost £100 taking myself and 3 kids here. The signage is awful to it's hard to find the way on to a lot of the slides and a number of staff members were rude. Dangerously busy and a real waste of money of you come in busy periods. Would not go again.
