The park is absolutely stunning. The trees are so green and lush, and the flowers are in bloom. The boating lake is a popular spot for a leisurely paddle, and the bandstand is often used for concerts and performances. There are also plenty of walking and biking trails, which I enjoyed exploring.
I spent a few hours in the park, and I just loved relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. I also took a walk around the boating lake, and I even saw some ducks and swans. It was a really peaceful and relaxing experience.

We were in the area visiting family and had a spare few hours to kill, suggested we spent some time looking around the park, first of all it’s very well looked after with beautiful flowered areas, lake,boating lake and miniature railway which unfortunately wasn’t open in the school holidays, cafe was reasonably priced but unfortunately no WiFi for customers which one of the staff was quite abrupt about when we asked for the code,her reply to another member of staff was “no sharing WiFi codes!” Strange!

Parking is free after 6:00pm
Ideal for family picnic

Went to the fireworks display tonight and got stuck in the massive queue for an hour!! I only paid to go for my little boy and we never got a chance to see them.
They really need to figure out how to get people in sooner, and considering it’s all online tickets you would think it would be quick!!!!!
If I could get my money back I would. So disappointed for my little boy.

I was looking for a good place to run while staying in Leicester for a few days and Abbey park was perfect. Just over a mile from my hotel and it’s about a mile to run around the park. It’s really pretty there and quite populated so I felt quite safe as a woman running somewhere I didn’t know - although I did end up having to run though and industrial estate to get there which wasn’t the best. Lovely once I was there though.

Lovely park to spend some time in beautiful trees and flowers did a memory walk for alzeimers on Sunday really enjoyed looking at the wonderful scenery would recommend anyone to visit I thoroughly enjoyed it

We had a couple of hours to kill whilst in Leicester and visited here. It is a lovely park, we had a nice walk. It is beautiful and appeared to be well maintained. There is plenty of parking nearby and we did not struggle to find a spot.

A very well kept park with some interesting hidden corners. The 'Japanese' garden was very peaceful. The cafe was good too.

Beautiful, large park with lots of paths, suitable for bikes and scooters too, and loads of wildlife. Got to see some signets too.

We had so much fun at Abbey Park - we hadn’t realised how much there was to do there.
First we had a walk, then we went to the playground, (there was an ice cream van just outside which our children insisted we visited!), then we visited pets corner where there were lots of small animals and birds, went to the visiting funfair, then went on the miniature railway. (£1.50 per person). The boating lake wasn’t operating but it was still nice to walk as and see.
We had a really great day and our 3 and 5 year old loved it. So well maintained and easily accessible. It would be a great place for scooters and bikes if you had those too.

There is parking inside the park. There are both free and park and pay I believe. The one closest to the ruins and by the pet corner is free. It is also very popular so you need to get there early in the day. We usually park outside the park. The cafe is closer to this parking area as well. Just past the ruin wall it is by the oval track. You can't miss it. The bridge crossing the river is in front of it.

Is Abbey Park Hilly? Looking at coming with my 90 year old Grandad but he is not great with hills.

I think it's rather flat, more like a big meadow. I've visited it couple of times with a toddler and also a baby stroller and had no problem with walking with neither of them. There are few bridges but I think you can avoid crossing them :)

Pets Corner is open when the park is open. The cafe has it's own hours and I am sorry I can't help you out with that. You may be able to find out online. The railway was closed when we went this winter so I will assume only certain times and again you may be able to find out online on the Abbey Park website or call Leicester City Council.
