Arrived just after opening at 10am so managed to get on the 10.30 tour (included in admission price of £11.00 per adult). Informative and dry-humoured tour guide gave us lots of fascinating historical facts and insights. Impressive cathedral, the 4th largest in the UK. Area of cobbled streets around the cathedral, including the famous Steep Hill, is quaint and beautifully preserved.

Great place to visit. We were staying in Market Harborough for Valentines. We decided to get on the local bus for a trip out to Leicester. A great town for shopping, we bought lots.

Booked a tour of the cathedral which is currently closed until late 2023 for substantial renovations. The tour was a walk around the surrounding area of the cathedral, visiting the Guildhall, Castle Gardens and St Mary de Castro Church.
Fascinating tour, Berni, our tour guide, was full of knowledge; we learned so much about the history of Leicester. The tour takes about 1hr + It was a great introduction to Leicester.

We were staying in the adjacent street and had good views of the building but it is currently shrouded in scaffolding and undergoing major works. We will be sure to visit when we are back in the city.

Lovely small cathedral, the final resting place of King Richard III- the reason we visited.
We chose to see the cathedral to round off our day and pay our respects after visiting The King Richard III Visitor Centre, a short walk away.

As i've said in other reviews, i'm not a religious person. So it is always awkward to step into religious buildings. But this was worth the trip. It's not the most impressive of Cathedrals. And i'd have happily just passed it by and admired it from the outside. But having just visited the Richard III centre across the road, I learned that this is the final resting place of King Richard III. So naturally, it felt like the perfect place to follow up a visit to the centre. It was very nice inside but lets face it, I was there to see a royal tomb. And it did not disappoint.

We travelled to Leicester to see the Richard 3rd museum and a visit to the Cathedral to visit his tomb. The Cathedral is smaller than expected so the tomb takes pride of place and there are many displays referring to Richard 3rd which makes it an interesting tour. The attendants are very knowledgeable and we particularly enjoyed our discussion with a lady about the Windows by Thomas Denny, dedicated to the life of the King.

Excellent guided tour of the cathedral taking in all the aspects relevant to Richard III. Our guide was excellent being very well informed and engaging.

Enormous and imposing, the Cathedral is a must-see when you visit Leicester.
The people inside are extremely polite, a map is offered for all the things that you ought to see, entrance is free *and* you get to see King Richard's III final resting place.
Absolutely recommended.
