Very poor viewing experience

First visit to Picturehouse at FACT. Unfortunately not a good experience.  Apparently, the projector was broken. The result was that we were sat  watching a film that was so dark it was barely visible!! Needless to say, many people walked out of the film auditorium. When we spoke to staff, they told us that they had been aware of the fault on the projector prior to the start of the film, but had chosen not to inform the audience . Instead, they told us that they had decided to let the audience watch the film. If the audience had a problem with it, they could claim a refund if they approached staff with their complaint. Seems to me they were putting profits before customer satisfaction. They seemed to be hoping that the audience would put up with the poor viewing experience. If the audience then left without complaining, there would be no need to make any refunds! Luckily, we did complain and received a refund ( which is yet to show on my account!). However, there were people still in the auditorium watching the film when we left. If they were not informed of the projector problem and offered a refund without having to make a formal complaint to staff, then I think this is extremely poor customer service by FACT! Although I received a refund for my cinema ticket, I was still out of pocket in that I had used petrol and paid substantial parking charges in order to visit FACT. I had also purchased drinks in their cafe! No compensation was offered for this inconvenience. Free tickets for a further visit to FACT would have been a nice gesture. I would suggest to Picturehouse at FACT, that if in future they are aware of problems with the film projector prior to a performance, then they should cancel the said performance immediately and notify audience members accordingly. Indeed, FACT had my email address and could have emailed me prior to the performance to let me know of the projector difficulties and given me a refund. This would have saved me the cost of petrol and expensive parking! If it was not possible to contact me by email then they could have let me know when I arrived at the cinema. I could have then gone home, consequently reducing the incurred parking charges. All in all, this was a very negative experience at Picturehouse at FACT. I will be unlikely to visit this venue in future and will not be recommending it to friends!

Lovely Setting for the Arts

First time visiting PH at FACT was to see Parasite as I could not find it being shown at other cinemas. This is something that a hugely appreciate in a cinema, when they show a good range of films. Although expensive, it is a cinema which offers a luxury experience watching films so not something you’d do all the time. Student discount is always well received too! I will be returning to FACT to see more of what they do!

Welcomes all people and fairly easy going but can feel cold watching any film and quite expensive

It is welcoming and fairly easy going however it can feel cold while sitting watching any film with most likely the air conditioning being on too high and the films can cost a lot to pay for anyone who is unwaged. There are a wide range of films and some in different languages with English subtitles shown to cater for all film goers.

Nestled just off Bold Street this could be a million miles from the chain cinema's like Odeon. What a neat and great discovery the Picture House is. With its stunning interior (ground floor Garden Cafe and Art Galleries that continue on the 1st Floor ..... here you will find a large Bar for drinks and coffee ..... then on to the upper floor with 3 cinema screens ...... auditorium seating and real comfy).
We went to see Mrs Lowry and Son ...... because the mainstream movie palaces simply won't entertain these great Indie movies ... so well done Picture House and so worth that couple of quid extra .... or do the Meerkat BOGOF on Tues / Weds like we did.

Overpriced and exclusive

Simple price comparison with the Odeon at Liverpool One (Screencaps attached)

Standard ticket to see 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' with PH at 8:40pm on 16/8/19 is £12.20. The same movie, same day at Odeon at 8pm is £6.75. You can actually see the movie in IMAX at Odeon for less than what PH charges for a regular viewing.

I would love an explanation as to how they can justify charging almost twice as much as their nearest competitor.

This is my major problem with FACT and PH. The prices for tickets, drinks and memberships have consistently risen, whilst perks for members have been stripped away (Accumulating points for example is now gone) and yet nothing has improved to account for it.

I have no criticisms of the staff or venue itself. It's purely down to value or lack thereof. It's sad because I was a member for years and happily spent money there because I thought it was fair and reasonable. That's totally changed and it's disappointing to see.

First time visit to Picture house for afternoon Matinee show
This Venue is a beautiful environment to see a Film
Seats are great and quality of sound and vision are excellent
Venue is Central a few minutes walk from centre of Liverpool
Cost of ticket is fairly high but worth paying for the overall quality of the experience

A gem of a cinema and has the added bonus of a bistro and bar

Love this cinema , comfy reclining seats in screen 1 and 2 .
Shows all the latest releases cinematic and theatre productions ie ballet, opera at competitive prices , look out for special promotions .

A delightful place

My first experience here and I was pleased. Fact is a lovely venue and the bar staff were so nice and pleasing. I didn't get the chance to eat here but they do nice snacks. I was proud to see my friend's premier 'some girls wonder' here and we had a lovely cinema room with comfy chairs and sofas. You can also bring your drinks in (as long as they are in plastic glasses).

I love going once or twice a week as l have a membership for 12 months you get 10% of your drink in the bar plus Italian club in bold street and in fact restaurant so l feel l am getting my money worth
