After searching we finally came across a blue door in Greek street soho, there are no signs to indicate if this is a bar or not ,but when you go downstairs,it’s like going back in time you just feel like you’re in a gangsters den from the 50’s. Would I go back, I’m not sure, but it’s well worth a visit even just for one drink.

For some reason wanted to go on trip advisor and help them out with a positive review to bring people in to the empty restaurant...... but then I ate the food. Medium rare steak came well done. Wife's ribs came dry and daughters chilli without jalapeño came with jalapeño. Was offered half price for steak which was the only thing we complained about. Ate some of it cos hungry. Should have been offered full refund really. Didn't enjoy the half I ate. Disappointed for the waitress who I assume is an owner. She is nice but ultimately the food is what it is about and we never saw another customer. Disappointing. Cocktails 2 for 1 was good.

Lived in Dartford over 30yrs, had never been before - doesn't look much but food excellent, very large portions (too much for me) but well cooked and very good service too. Went with husband, son & daughter-in-law and grand-daughter, therefore good for families.

We travel extensively and quite "below the radar" as far as tourists go. We heard about this place from a friend who'd been here years ago and said it was quaint and "off the beaten path". Some of our local friends told us to avoid this street late at night. When we got there, it was extremely foul smelling and the fronts of most stores in this area were really just used as urinals for the passing crowds.
We decided that because we came this far and finally found the address we might as well go inside. Made our way to the cramped bar, ordered, then moved to a less crowded area, and began to sip our drinks... Imagine our surprise when along comes a tall man who, without introduction, asked us to "step aside" or be kicked out of this extremely cramped little bar because someone "important" felt we were standing too close to them. He literally put his hands on us and began to push my friend and I even further toward the back area. A quick glance around and we only saw what appeared to be a sad looking man engrossed in his cell phone, but no one even within arms reach. Nevermind that everywhere else closer to the bar was elbow-to-elbow, hiney-to-hiney and there was barely standing room only.... And they seemed to allow getting along just fine. I will add (and you can make of this what you will), my friend was the only patron "of color" in the entire place during our brief visit.
We were absolutely perplexed as we were literally told to go and sit at the back of the room or be "kicked out". We left. We found a wonderful place nearby, to be named in another review.

We're on a mission to find and drink in as many speakeasy bars as we can and this one is a treat
Nothing more I can add that no one else who has reviewed this place hasn't already
Cool and friendly barman that makes you feel like you've just been welcomed into his home
The banter is relaxed and friendly and everyone is clearly in an upbeat mood
It is a cramped bar (with a mini 'garden' area for smokers) but it didn't feel cramped when in there
We did have other bars to venture out to - but I could've happily remained here all night

Посидели и немного выпили в этом баре. Не стали оставаться надолго, есть более интересные места. Наверно и здесь бывает что-то интересное, наверно мы зашли не в то время...

The title says it all. What a unique place. You are elbow to elbow with old time regulars, young hipsters and tourists-in-the-know. 4 pound drinks rule this unique watering hole, where the walls are plastered with old photos of popes and mobsters and lounge singers. More fun than grown ups should be allowed to have.

Soho! It is so rewarding to actually find, and get into this place, knowing you can't get in unless signed in by a member. It's better if you are a Dean Martin fan. It's so cool. Thanks to Anthony Bordain for the tips.

Like the other reviewer, it’s hard to know whether you want to let the cat out of the bag.
The Hide Out is one of those places you will never find if you’re not told or shown, but once you are, you’ll never forget it. It’s one of the London stops I truly miss and if I ever opened a bar, this would be the model.
It’s changed somewhat over the years and it’s hard to explain what the place is about, you go through what looks like the door to some flats (dodgy!) down some stairs and you’re met by one of the most honest bars you’ll ever find in London. Recently (in the last few years) a guest book has been put by the doors & the landlady - who we found to be a real character; affable and down-to-earth - said that it was a member’s bar, whether it’s always been or whether it just is now, who knows, but maybe the ‘members’ element is to do with the license they do (or don’t) hold, or simply to vet the customers…it’s a tiny basement bar, known to few & loved, so I’m sure she has the luxury of only filling the place with people they want in there, that's how it seems.
I’ve been with all kinds of people, on all kinds of nights out, there’s been jazz bands, games of cards, dogs running round your ankles and absolutely zero pretence or la-di-das, I’ve, personally, not seen junkies (!) but yeah, celebrities go there and I’ve yet to see one approached. It’s not that kind of place.
The décor is basement/ New York gangster den/ Italian - green cloth on the tables, Godfather posters; you get the idea, the toilets have been re-done fairly recently and I think there’s even a smoking section out back by the toilets now.
The bar is so limited it’s refreshing, I’m pretty sure the wine was warm when I went there last, all these things that you could think are a recipe for a bad bar are actually what make this place shine.

Wow, a truly legendry bar, I possibly should not even review it, I believe it does not have a licence, if this is what a bar without a license should be, take the licence’s back my lord! A basement bar accessed via ground level, typical Georgian house, dodgy looking, down the long hall way, down a flight of stairs, sign the book, host will bring you in, BINGO, Frank Sinatra music playing loudly in the background, impromptu singing from the varied clients, large mix from junkies to celebrity, no airs or graces down here though! The bar selection is limited, but the atmosphere is exhilarating, not a couples bar, but if you have two couples that’s ok. Toilets are not of Ritz calibre, they are more slop out come toilet at the bottom of your garden type job. Lady behind bar completely rude only adds to the ambience. After a couple of drinks in Bob Bob Ricard, (bad & expensive) the hideout is the bogs… Be well!
