In 1973, the Royal Institution opened a museum dedicated to Michael Faraday. Who would have thought that a bookbinder's apprentice would grow into a great experimental scientist! Despite its small size, the museum is interesting (for lovers of physics and chemistry). The highlight of the museum is the recreated Faraday Laboratory of the 1850s. One of his contemporaries wrote: “He lived in his laboratory, among his instruments: he went to it in the morning and left in the evening with the precision of a merchant spending the day in his office.”
Visit to the museum is free.

I really loved this small museum, as you can find so many interesting exhibits which are part of scientific history. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Science lovers won't regret it.

It is a very specific museum for scientists, engineers, etc... Since my wife and I are engineers, we were interested. It is a small museum located in the Royal Institution. Admission is free and allows you to visit the history and inventions of Michael Faraday. At the end of the visit you can access the Theater of the Royal Institution where so many English scientists have given talks and presentations. Recommended if you are attracted to the world of science and the life of the "greats of science." Of course it is free to enter the museum.

This is a small museum that probably only appeals to those with an interest in the history of science.I found the exhibits very interesting and well labelled and felt that it was a worthwhile visit although definitely not for everybody.

The Faraday Museum is a little gem that I never even realised was there.
This free small museum, which is just off Piccadilly, is in the basement of the Royal Institution and it was here that Michael Faraday conducted his experiments.
Although its small, it is packed with interesting original items and facts like Faraday’s lab.
I found it an interesting visit, so, if you have an interest in science or like in my case a vague interest, and are in the area, then I recommend that you go along to this museum.

This small museum is located in a basement corridor of the Royal Institution. It features some old apparatus in glass display cabinets. There’s information boards about the famous scientists behind their groundbreaking experiments. If you’re into the history of science then this is a very good museum. Entry is free.

I work in a museum of history of science, and the Faraday Museum has been on my list. It's a really nice place to visit: The staff members have displayed important scientific instruments regarding the great discovery in history, and some other personal touch about the scientists. I quite like Faraday's lab reconstructed. It's easy to get there by bus, and you get some restaurants nearby, too. The staff was friendly.

Great free museum with lots of fascinating original items from the history of science. Loved the first miners' safety lamp, and Faraday's lab!
