A fantastic evening of champagne and canapes under the direction of Alex and Mary, who were great teachers and good fun.

My sister and I bought this as a Christmas present for our mum and the three of us thoroughly enjoyed it and everyone was so friendly.

Attended the macaron course last week - great way to spend a couple of hours. Becca was an experienced and patient tutor. Looking out for the next one!

What a brilliant evening my partner and I had
The chefs teaching us were so much fun, really informative and made us feel really welcome
The food and wine was delicious ( we participated in the perfect steak evening ) and it was so lovely to sit and have a meal with all the other class members afterwards
Highly recommend and will be returning for sure

Excellent introduction to Spanish food. Daughter and I second visit to this school, the whole experience is fantastic, from the greeting on arrival, to the hospitality of the staff but mostly the chefs are always knowledgeable and very able, patient teachers. Each step.is carefully broken down into.manageable stages, help is on hand for the tricky bits. All items weighed and prepared and no washing up!

This was a birthday present for my son and what a fabulous time we had. We were welcomed with fresh croissant, coffee and juice. Coffee, tea and water remained available all through the 5 hr course.

Once everybody was settled we were expertly guided through the course by Kendal, a wonderful and lively Canadian with a good sense of humour and a wealth of culinary tips.

The course was structured with a demonstration by Kendal of what prep we needed to do before we headed to our station to do the same. We cooked in pairs.

The menu we cooked was:
Baked beetroot, watercress with blue cheese dressing

Beef short ribs with a (delicious) barbecue sauce
Boston baked beans
Garlic and chipotle Slaw
Corn bread (which we did not make)

Lemon tart with Italian meringue (made by Kendal while we were there)

All the dishes were fabulously tasty.

Certain prep items were completed by Kendal and her team ahead of the course to make the most of our time there. These include brining the short ribs (overnight), baking the beetroot, confit the garlic. All ingredients were weighed and portioned, again to save time on the course so we got maximum cooking experience.

All in all a brilliant way to spend 5 hours in Kings Cross.

I am a complete novice and over 70, but having been given a voucher for my birthday, it allowed me to choose two separate courses at the Finchley Road School. So easy to get to, it is 1 minute from the tube station. Being on my own I was a little anxious but on entering, I was welcomed by the affable front of house manager, Liz, who immediately put me at my ease with her warm, natural style and helpful information about what I could expect, not least a free (and refillable) glass of Prosecco or any other drink I might want including a soft one.
Then the ebullient Emily, the main chef and teacher of both my courses, took over. She not only has obvious skills as an experienced chef herself but also has the real talent of being able to express the recipes in a way that even I could understand and execute during the course. Emily even gave little cooking tips outside of the recipes that make life easier.
The outcome was that I felt more confident and achieved two dishes that tasted great as we were allowed to eat our own efforts, again with a glass of something.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I’VE TRIED AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED and it is completely down to the professionalism, friendliness and commitment shown by Emily, Liz and their team. Waitrose Cooking School can be rightly proud of these courses

What a fantastic way to spend a day in these challenging times.
Received a lovely warm welcome from Liz, front of house, with coffee and pastries.
Emily, our chef of the day was friendly, enthusiastic very skilled and patient answering questions and sharing tips.My knife skills improved 100%
Laura supported Emily during the day- reassuring and keeping you on track.
They were a great team.
I had never eaten a quesadilla - this pulled chicken version was scrumptious.We ate them for lunch with beers / wine
Once you have tried a true Mexican chilli con-carne you will never be able to eat a ‘western’ chilli con carne again .
The dessert , bananas in rum with cajeta was soooo delicious
The day was finished with a Mojito
I nearly missed my stop on way home - full of yummy food and drink .
Book yourself on the next course - you will not be disappointed.

Went there for a cooking class with my 6 years old and he loved it! The waiting area is very nice and staff very welcoming. My son came back with impressive skills such as mastering knife when cutting shallots.

I completed the Vietnamese Street Food course last thursday and loved every bit of it. Our instructors Eleni and Helen were excellent, providing clear explanations and helpful hints along the way. The food we cooked was delicious and the set up was highly professional, well organised and in a fantastic setting. I would love to return for another class and proof of their good work was that my buddy, had already attended a number of their classes and was back again.

A great day at the Waitrose Cookery School learning how to make a selection of Italian patisserie. Everything was very well organised, the staff were all very professional, friendly and helpful and all the hospitality we received was excellent. We were given demonstrations of how to prepare the cakes and then had the opportunity to have a go ourselves, plus we were able to take home all the cakes we had made.
