I visited on an open day. The staff were very friendly and one lady gave me a tour. I didn't find the inside of great interest, as the rooms are quite plain with not many statues, though I loved the ceiling of the main temple room. I don't know much about this form of Buddhism, but can imagine it is of great interest to those who do follow it.

This is one of two hundred temples worldwide based on the Taiwanese Monastery established by the Venerable Master Hsing Yun In 1967 and practises Buddhism in the Mahayana tradition. This Sunday morning worshippers waited to pray in the entrance corridor at an incensed pot beneath an ornate figure sculptured in silver next to another black sculpture. Beyond funky ritualistic chanting emanated from a room beyond.

This is the London branch of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist organisation. On entry, the staff are really friendly, welcoming and help you through the temple to the meditation hall. Which is a nice room for Buddhist devotional practices and a bit of peace and quiet. Sadly, most of the programs are in Mandarin, and you'd need to ask about English programs.

I had passed this temple earlier in the week and thought i must return which i did at the weekend with my other half. We were unsure about going in but the elderly lady in the reception said yes come in and you are more than welcome to go upstairs to the main temple. What room full of Budda images on the walls, ceiling and of course the alter.
It is in an old grade II listed building. We were given a brochure of the history and the type of Buddhism as its Dharma teachings as in a modern philosophy to make the teachings relevant to a contemporary society. A real hidden gem.

Зашли сюда случайно после посещения Британского музея.Симпатичное здание.созданное одним из главных архитекторов Готического Ренессанса 19 века в Англии Вильямом Баттерфилдом.Только ради здания стоит зайти сюда.Китайский филиал тайванського храма в Лондоне абсолютно не понравился,неприветливый персонал и неуютно

I was on my lunch break and rushing with errands. I often walk on the back streets to avoid slow walking tourists etc and that was how I discovered the temple. The door was open and I walked in, tempted by the gorgeous smell of incense....the lady at reception was helpful and let me go in and explore....it was peaceful and i even managed to hear some of the history and learnt more about humanistic Buddhism. all the volunteers were warm and welcoming.
I would recommend this to everyone, this temple is an absolute gem and a perfect place to visit to get 10 minutes to meditate - I will definitely return to meditate whenever I can.

Visited the temple today in hope of some light reflection. Mistakenly went to the front of the altar which I didn't know was 'out of bounds'. Rather than correct me, the guide/volunteer was abrupt and rude even when I apologied (kinda wish i hadent)!
I STRONGLY DISCOURGE visiting here and would perhaps encourage people to think about the other temples available in London.

London FGS location is in the city centre. It is an old building converted into a temple with the necessary facilities in place for devotion practices, meditation hall for those who would like to practice and seek peace of mind through self- realization of self innner strengthen and discover the wonder and powerful of our mind!
There are many regular activities conducted to cater for the needs of the people especially the Chinese community settled down in London.
Chinese speaking will be essential to attend those activities. However, you need to check with the reception for the English speaking programmes.
This centre is following the Mahayana tradition of the Buddhism!
