We took a gamble and came after visiting Avenger STATION not sure if it would be open as the DLR stop was closed.
but we always come here if we are going to Excel as its probably the best value food on site and right next to Custom House DLR. While 1 pizza can be split between 2 we had 1 Veneto pizza (cheese & tomato) and 1Loire pizza (ham & mushroom), bread basket starter and 2 cups of tea & coffee which came to £30.
The pizza is always cooked to order so avoid the lunch rush.
Our server was Elena and she was attentive but not intrusive. The decor hasnt changed for a couple of years and we sat at a high trestle table rather than a couch.
We are back in May and will come back.

Una vera delusione, l'estetica attrae, il resto respinge. Molto lunga l'attesa, molto scarsa la qualità dei prodotti (insapori) per finire sui prezzi...stellari...no good

We were lucky enough to spot this little Italian restaurant on our way out of ExCel.to the DLR. What a good choice as it is head and shoulders above any of the places we've eaten at before in the area. It my be small with a fairly limited menu but enough choices and the food is great. Four of us all enjoyed the Pizzas and Salads which were superb. Elena the Assistant Manager was excellent, really efficient and professional, yet so friendly too. In fact all the staff we came into contact with were very good. Great atmosphere and would really recommend this place.

We enjoyed a nice evening with some friends of mine. We had some pizzas and a very tasty Lasagne. Our waitress Oana was very helpful and friendly. She came to our table several times to check if everything was Ok. We liked the atmosphere there and we highly recommend it.

La Barrique is a cosy restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Pizza is absolutely delicious and authentic! The waitress Elena was very friendly and made us feel excellent! Highly recommended!

Meal and wine before getting the cable car to the O2 Lobdonfor a show. Was quite difficult to find but worth it. Excellent service, excellent food & wine & reasonable prices.Aurellia made warm welcome as husband birthday.

The restaurant is clean, modern, well positioned near Custom House for Excel DLR station.
We only stopped for a glass of wine and an appetizer, but we really enjoyed the stay. There was a very good choice of wines (we chose a good red spanish wine). We also ordered a plate of cheese and salami, ham, mortadella, some bred a lot of chats.
The ambience was good, the restaurant was not noisy, open spaced and comfortable. You can choose from regular chairs, stools or sofa, The kitchen is visible. There is a fantastic oven were pizzas and breads are prepared.
In general a good experience, the check.....so so, but well Worth it!

Staying at the Novetell Excel London decided to have a meal at this place and found. The service to be professional and clearly the management know their wines I would not hesitate to recommend this Cafe to those who appreciate good service and quality for your money
