My friend and I had an amazing night last night at a Kiefer Sutherland gig. Kiefer and his band were awesome, as were the support act. The venue is so-so, but what really shocked and dismayed me was how you treated a young lady in a wheelchair who had come all the way from Australia to see Kiefer. She was right at the front with a fantastic view and you made her move back "for safety reasons". Once you moved her she couldn't see a thing! Disgusting treatment of someone with a disability 🤬. You should be ashamed of yourselves Waterfront!! You need to be able to cater for people with disabilities, the building isn't listed, sort it out!

Normally have a good experience with waterfront however tonight was a disappointment. Brought entry for a group of six, however when one of my friends became Ill we decided to leave in order to walk her to her taxi with another one of our friends. We had told staff and then left in order to make sure our friend was well and safe, however when we returned to walk in the club we weren’t allowed entry, despite having already paid and told staff where we were going and why we left. Even after explaining we were still not allowed entry as it was ‘passed entry time’ although there is no mention of last entry time anywhere and it was at least two hours till close. We explained the situation but we’re still denied entry and had to end up going elsewhere. Seriously lowered the waterfronts ratings in my eyes as the staff’s behaviour and the way they talked to us was disgusting and disrespectful.

Overall, it was a good night for a good price - but could’ve been a much more enjoyable experience if the venue reduced their maximum capacity limit.
Venue is a nice size to get a great band experience - but being a sold out gig, it was waaaaaaaay too tightly packed to be comfortable. claustrophobics, this is not the place for you!. Literally no room to breathe.
It’s standing room only, squashed very close together. No seating in the audience area (even for customers with mobility issues). Floor gets very wet/cluttered with spilt drinks and disgarded plastic cups. No air con or windows open etc, so be prepared for multiple bad smells and sweaty strangers in very close proximity.
Nice outdoor area and some indoor seating past the bar, though.
Bar and security staff were all polite and efficient .
As the bar is at the far end, most of the gig was spent being squeezed by others attempting to move back and forth to the bar, (where there were no gaps to move), so not as enjoyable as it could’ve been.
There is a Propaganda ‘indie disco’ that follows the gig. However, the gap between end of gig and disco start is over an hour. So the night loses momentum and the venue loses customers, as there’s no background music on whilst they clear up during the break. The Propaganda disco was a bit flat, so we left early.
Toilets - not awful but could do with renovating.
Ticket price was very good value for money in comparison to the rip off merchant ticket websites these days.
I’d only attend a gig here again if the particular act appearing weren’t available elsewhere. Other East Anglian ‘standing only’ areas at venues/gigs are much more spacious even when at full capacity - Colchester Arts Centre, Trinity Park Ipswich, Cambridge Junction etc

Had an amazing trip! Such a great TRIP it ended in A&E. Would bring an umbrella if it's raining though.

I have been surprised at seeing some of the previous reviewswritten about The Waterfront in Norwich. It is quirky, it is small, it has an unusual layout but it is up close and personal. If you want to get in close and see a band perform this is a good venue. The facility is rather dated in some respects. Toilet facilities aren't brilliant. The bar is rather obscure and is set to one side of the stage thus providing a sometimes noisy backdrop to the support act in whom some people are not interested and would rather talk loudly in the background than listen to the performance. It is supposed to hold around seven hundred people - personally I wouldn't want to be in such a big crowd in a relatively confined atmosphere. But it has character and you get a feel for the group performing. The crowd can get close to the stage and truly see a band perform live. I saw The Stone Foundation there and most of the audience were of more mature years so it wasn't a rowdy venue but they appreciated good music.

I recently went to this venue for a concert and was absolutely appalled by the lack of disabled facilities and access. I recently had surgery and was on crutches so emailed the venue before hand to discuss options and was told I was not guaranteed a seat, but to speak to the staff as soon as I got to the venue as they would have a disable viewing area. When I got there I was shoved beside the stage with all the equipment, boxes and stage crew and had a very restricted view. I paid just as much as everyone else and couldn’t enjoy myself properly as I had to keep moving about to see. I was even made to move after the support act so they could set the stage, but the whole point of me needing a seat is my difficulty moving. I couldn’t see the support act, and could only see the backing band of the main artist. Wouldn’t go to a concert there again. Especially if you have any access requirements.

Excellent place for a gig. Great atmosphere. Johnny Marr was superb as usual. Highly recommend much better than UEA

Hi, When we saw Sophie EB it was standing only. There are seating areas in the Waterfront but not sure if they are used just for club nights.
