What a fabulous park! Lots of lovely walks dotted with information boards about local flora and fauna. Several different loops to explore which we all enjoyed, as did the dogs. Particular highlights were the hidden sculptures and the tin can alley. Great place to while away a few hours.
Hetty’s cafe/ tea room also did great bacon sarnies and sausage rolls to keep us going.
The car park was very reasonable at a couple of pounds for the day.
We will definitely come back.

Lovely, clearly signed walks/trails, suitable terrain & distances for all the family. Clean toilets & well-maintained play area. We spent a very pleasant 3 hours here.
Tea rooms well worth a visit. Limited menu but flexible with sandwich fillings listed - suited fussy individuals! Food prepared efficiently, quality sandwiches - fresh bread and generously filled. Lots of picnic tables nearby to take food away to enjoy.

Didn't follow one coded walk in particular as we kept getting distracted by lots of interesting things in the woods. Loved trailing around and coming out into Holt Lowes, which is an entirely different landscape. Also really loved the amphibian ponds/pools and lovely Forest Schools activities.
I think the two men woodcarving holding a length of rope between them wasn't properly thought out.

I don’t know why Holt Country Park has any bad reviews! We had a lovely afternoon exploring the woods. We took the longest, purple route which had some great views. All of the routes were clearly marked with colour coded arrows. Our 3 year old daughter enjoyed looking at the different sculptures along the way. There is a children’s play area which went down well with her too. Hetty’s House Tea Room was fantastic (I highly recommend the lemon scone, they also had some veggie and vegan options) everything was home made and the staff were so lovely. Nice clean toilets. Plus the parking was only £2.30 for the entire day. What’s not to love!

Visited the Holt Country Park with our furry friend Sultan and we were not disappointed!
With a car parking charge of £2.30 to park your car all day at the park which is very reasonably priced.
A choose of 5 colour trails to choose from which suits all ages and capabilities with the longest trail being the purple route which takes you through the park and on the outside of the park as well with some spectacular views and open spaces!
Lovely wooden sculptures dotted throughout the park and signs explaining more about the area of woodlands as you walk through.
Dogs are recommended to be kept on a lead but there are toilet facilities and a small, cute cafe (Hetty's Cafe) next to the car park where you can buy hot and cold beverages and a bite to eat and either sit on the chairs by the cafe or venture to the panic area or surrounding benches provided.
Perfect for dog walking the purple trail is rustic with some uneven grounds in places so be careful underfoot but the rustic and natural look gives this country park character and enhances it's natural beauty!!
Definitely worth a visit if your visiting Holt or passing through!!

Very pleasant walk for a couple of hours. We chose the longest route, but went off piste a few times due to lack of route markers. Nice varied terrain. Walked with our two Spaniels, but unable to let them off as they like to forage, and adders are present in the undergrowth. Very cute tearoom in the carpark, and toilets, which are always handy. There were actual maps to follow but they didn't really bear much relation to the route we took. Nice couple of hours, but not for off lead walks.

It’s a cracking place to visit, especially with a dog, and with reasonably car parking prices and a lovely little cafe, what more do you need.

Arrived at Holt, had trouble finding the Country Park as we did not see any signs directing you the actual park. Finally found ourselves on a road leading to the park but the sign for the park was very close to the entrance and we nearly overshot the turning. Not great if you have cars following you!!!! We found the park disappointing as it seemed run down and underfunded. There were not enough wayward markers around the walk.

Lovely park with lots of different routes to take. Big muddy so be prepared but the paths are well maintained and signposted. Car park is reasonable and good facilities. If you have time definitely check out the tea shop - delicious homemade cakes and a reasonable price.

The park was good. My Grandson (7) liked the pond and trying to spot wildlife. He enjoyed the park especially the zip wire. That was the good part the bad part is that the trail needs more direction posts and with more colours. It’s good that there are lots of interesting structures. Toilets are clean.

Hi. I have limited mobility. Can anyone please tell me roughly how long each trail is and how many there are. I’m particularly interested in heading out to the heath to try to spot adders. X

Hello, my husband has limited mobility and we plan on purchasing a mobility scooter. Would he be able to visit Holt Country Park using this?. I look forward to hearing from you.

I don’t think there are many trails where a mobility scooter would be able to travel freely. It’s very muddy at the moment too.
